I love Innocent smoothies. Everything in the brand, packaging, logos, ads... They are so cute and so funny... Not only on the outside the bottles and cartons are great, but also in the inside you find really delicious smoothies. I haven't tried them all, but I will, eventually. The only bad thing is that they are rather expensive, but you can always wait until there's a special offer in Tesco/Sainsburys/Waitrose (which happens quite often).
The campaigns that the company is sometimes involved in, like The Big Knit, with all those people knitting cute and tiny hats for the bottles, are just awesome. I wish they were available also in Spain, I'm sure they'd be a real success.
Normally, I'm quite a purist and prefer to blend my own smoothies tailoring them to my taste, mood and ingredients. But, there are times when practicality takes precedence The other day, out-and-about, late afternoon and all I'd eaten was a piece of fruit. So, thirsty and a little hungry, at the same time, I searched for a snack.
At the supermarket, an intriguing variant caught my eye. Innocent's breakfast thickie wasn't a guaranteed winner but I gave it a try and was happy I did! Deliciously berried, not-too-sweet; the raspberries and blueberries married perfectly with yogurt and oats in its composition. I've been familiar with Innocent since their inception; I love their fun, no-nonsense, practical, healthy approach, quirky sense-of-humour (and delicious products). Yum!
I previously worked for a well-known promoter who organsing live music events. One day at work in 2001/02 I was told the story by a collegue about these two guys who went to an event, hired a pitch and tried making smoothies with the idea of giving up their well paid jobs to do so as a business start up. Appartently, I had been a customer at a number of the promoter's festivals and events including the one where these guys sold smoothies.
Lol and behold, I was reading a smoothie bottle a couple of years later and the same story was printed on the side. Honest, good fun on the outside and the inside of the bottle. That is what I think when I consider innocent and their wonderful drinks. I have called up on a the 'banana phone' on a couple of occasions as invited to 'just for a chat'. Nice people answerit is like a fruit version of the samiratians I guess.
I have never disliked a single product this company has made. Some are better than others, but the well written packaging would made you smile if the product inside doesn't. I was even told that the style for communicating with young volunteers should be 'like innocent packaging' once and who would disagree when there is writing on the bottom of the bottle saying'dont touch the button!'. So funny!
I have not been to fruit towers, but being a fan of the company and apparently being there when they launched I am pleased to see them branch out into thickies, food, veg and more. All they have to do next is take up my letter some nine months back when I suggusted the use of juicy, vit C packed peppers in a smoothieI am still waiting!
I love Innocent! I just have to gush here because while I haven't visited their office, I have been in love with their smoothies for awhile.
The smoothies are also good for others as they do an annual drive with knitted caps on their smoothies in support of charities helping the elderly.
I love everything about this company. Their advertising (funky and fun), their products (delicious and natural tasting), their customer service staff (who talk to you like a friend)....
Despite all of the many options, my favourite is still one of the original and the best, Strawberry & Banana. Now that's a great breakfast !
Best smoothy drinks ever!!! no brands can compete at all!!! no restriction on this, I just love it!!! even though it's a bit expensive.
