First off--DON'T COMPLAIN IF YOU BOOK THIS HOTEL

-You are in the MIDDLE OF THE CENTER WITH CHURCH BELLS. IT IS LOUD AT TIMES. However, that being said, Dona Maria is the PERFECT hotel if you want to EXPERIENCE TRUE ESPANA.

If not, go to the Marriott and lock yourself in and don't come out.

This hotel offers not too much that Americans are accustomed to. 24 hr room service-ah no. You to your mini bar and get some nuts.

It is loud at times because of the Campanas, the bells, but it is the most beautiful thing to wake up to and go to bed to. SO you get up early, take a siesta. Everything is easy access here. We walked to the bullfights, SO many eateries around-you cannot go wrong and if you do, you suck. There wasn't one place we went to that wasn't good.

Back to the hotel, it's cozy, CLEAN-ABSOLUTELY CLEAN-comfie, and old. The history abound is amazing. We are on our 5th night and I hate to leave in a couple of days. The staff is friendly, warm, informative and great. Front desk to bell captain to room cleaning.

Seriously, if you are looking to sleep your way thru Spain then go somewhere else. If you want to feel like a true Sevilliana, come here. During our siesta, we could hear people singing and dancing.

BUSINESS TRAVELERS---YOU NEED WIFI??? COME HERE! 100% DEPENDABLE!! Was in Madrid at a top elite hotel and we lost 3 days of business because they sucked. Dona Maria had reliabel service AND a conference room for us to take care of calls and business. FREE !! HELLO!!!

The roof top bar is above and beyond hands down the most sought after view you will see.

Bien provecia y gracias Sevilla and Hotel Dona Maria!!

I love this hotel's location because it is just a stone's throw away from Seville Cathedral.  Since Sevilla is a walking city, I felt confident getting lost in its streets because I just had to look for the Cathedral's tower (Giralda) and walk towards it to find my way back to the hotel.  The negative side, though, was the ringing of the church bells from early morning till midnight.  I didn't mind it so much though because I thought it added to the charm of the place.

We stayed at a room with a view of the Cathedral from our balcony.  The room looked dated but was clean.  Free wifi.  The bathroom was small and sometimes it took a few minutes for the water heater to kick in.  Housekeeping came in every day even though we left the do not disturb sign every morning.

Front desk personnel helped us make reservation to see a Flamenco show.  They were helpful in giving us directions on where we wanted to go.  The hotel map was helpful and easy to follow.

Around the corner from the hotel is Mateos Gago which is lined with restaurants/tapas bars and souvenir shops.  There's even a convenience store down the road where I was able to buy an adaptor for my curling iron for less than 5euros.  It's also where we bought water, soda, and late night munchies.

Dona Maria is also just steps away from Alcazar of Seville.  Plaza Nueva is just a short easy walk away.  Dona Maria's location can't be beat!

Stayed at this hotel because it was featured in Samantha Brown's travel show. My husband and I were glad that we did stay at this place. It's in the heart of Barrio Santa Cruz and the backdrop is the Giralda cathedral and tower. What more can you ask for?

I was surprised that the hotel rooms were more nicer than what I saw at the travel show. The hotel had some upgrades particularly in the bathroom and I'm glad I was there to benefit from it. The room was clean and it was probably one of the bigger ones we stayed at in Europe. The hotel also had a terrace, rooftop pool and bar where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the cathedral and the tower.

The staff was nice and friendly. The concierge also helped us rent a car one day and the car was waiting outside for us. That's what I call service! The hotel also had a computer with free internet access. They had free breakfast and the tortilla espanola was to die for.

Hotel Dona Maria has the location! You could practically walk around town from the hotel. Sometimes, it's all about "location, location" and this hotel has got it!

The two stars are for location only.  I feel obligated to write this review as our experience at the Hotel Dona Maria was so unusually bad.  About the worst place I've stayed.

We were traveling as a family of five.  The room they gave my husband and me wreaked of sewage.  We were on the bottom floor and the heat in Seville in late June was stifling so all they could say was the smell was probably coming up from the underground.  Man it was gross.

Our new room was okay except for the barely working a\c.  Then on our last night there we were awakened in the early morning hours by an acrid ammonia smell and nausea.  It's four in the morning and all the staff does is confirm the strange odor in our room exists but don't offer us a new room. Luckily we had our kid's room to seek refuge as we were checking out in a few hours.  Before we were able to pack up and leave, however, I become I'll and am sick for the next few days to the point I missed our visit to the Alhambra entirely.  We were never certain if the illness was food borne from the heat in Seville or the toxic odor we were inhaling all night, but the Hotel Dona Maria left a bad taste in our mouths, so to speak.

We stayed here during Easter Week and loved it (debated between 4 and 5 starts).  Location was perfect.  We could watch the processions leaving the cathedral from the rooftop terrace when our feet hurt from walking.  The Alcazar and the Archivo de Indias are extremely close.  The service was good, breakfast was ample (would have preferred a bit more fresh fruit) and served sufficient hours to fit anyone's schedule.  The bath was updated, good-sized room, beds a little firm for me.  Loved having free Wi-Fi, although we couldn't get it to work on the terrace.  Our room faced the interior so we only heard the church bells when the windows were open.  I'm sorry for others' bad experience.  I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
