Nice democratic sample of hamburg on display at this great park in Eppendorf. Weekends and nice weather evenings it is a paradise for the yuppie grill-chill elite, however with a nice sprinkling of students, shirtless-jugglers, Turkish families and tiny tots waddling around in the wading pool.
I fully agree with twisterella's comments on the romantic/sport offerings, sadly the ice-creme parlor is no more. (good ice-cream--it is missed). The canal provides plenty of canoe/paddle/tourist boat action--if that's what you're into!
Go there, it's good.
Haynspark is a lovely little park in Eppendorf right next to the water. Most of the time it's rather quiet there which can be like an oasis from the hectic daily grind. A convenient place for a romantic walk in the evening, a sporty jog trot in the morning, a funky BBQ during the summertime or a nice hangout for the kids. (Playground included)
Within walking distance: an ice-cream parlour, a sushi bar, a few restaurants and a bus stop.
