Good choice on the menu and some good combinations on the banquet menus.
If you're looking for a cheap Chinese you need to be there between 6 and 7, where they have a special menu (a bit more limited) for a special price which makes it a little more cost effective.
We've been as part of a large group (8) and as a couple and had good food and service.
They do offer take-away on most nights - except when they're really busy in the restaurant!
I ate there last night for my birthday; the food was fine, but I felt that the service was bad and the staff were not interested. overall I think they use good quality ingredients but it was not a joyfull experince and so over priced; it was only a boring Wednesday night and that was reflected in the staffs attitiude, if the service is going to be impaired on a Wednesday then they should offer a mid week discount; The place was almost deserted there is no excuse for poor service. I note placed on the table says please ONLY TIP IN CASH to make sure the staff gets all of the money, do they mean to avoid tax ? or so the management can keep the money? anyway I didn't tip as there was no service
I had sweet and sour chicken balls which were excellent, but for £10 they should be; most places now sell frozn chicken balls that have little pieces of chicken surrounded by big lump of greasy doe, in fairness, that was not the case here
Hans is a lovely restaurant, it is quite hidden away but it is opposite peacock place on the top floor. We went there at Christimas time for a works party, the food was fab!! They catered for about 20 of us. We obviously ordered the food before we arrived but the service was fantastic.
The best Chinese restaurant in town without a doubt. The food here is second to none and really flavoursome. You do not get the portion sizes you may expect at some Chinese restaurants, especially with their takeaways, but that doesn't matter as it's a real case of quality not quantity. There is a good selection and the food is lighter and less greasy than most of the Chinese food I have eaten. The lack of greasiness means you can really taste every flavour and it is divine! The restaurant has a great atmosphere but I generally prefer takeways, so this is where most of my experience of Han's comes from. The service is great and when ordering a takeaway, the food is ready quickly and is piping hot.
Best chinese in town. Will cater very happily for a couple or for a large party. Food is generally very good. On top floor so no whellchair access. Do a take awy service too. Friendly service.
