I had a chance this past week to go to the Green Door Steakhouse again.

When I arrived at 5pm, the restaurant was empty, but other diners started to show up a few minutes later.

When ordering, I asked for some bread and the waiter brought out a cutting board with some excellent rolls and butter. I noticed that the other tables were not served bread and people were sitting idle, waiting for their orders, so it looks like you have to ask.

For the main course, I had a 10oz. ribeye steak with 3 tiger prawns on the side, a salad and a side of garlic mushrooms. You can choose from a variety of sauces on the steak and I had wanted to try the "Green Door Special" but forgot to tell the waiter. So my steak showed up sans sauce. But, that was just as well. The steak flavor was excellent and I am hard pressed to say which was better, the steak or the amazing side of garlic sauteed mushrooms. The prawns served with the steak were a bit dry.

For dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake, baked with melted chocolate inside and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. This was the perfect end to the meal!

The only problem I had with the meal was that the entree plate was cold which caused the steak and shrimp to cool off before I could finish the salad. I mentioned this to the waiter, who apologized and said the plates were supposed to be well heated before serving. However, no compensation was offered, which in most establishments would at least get you a free dessert.
