After a bad experiance with The Church Inn, what is directly infront of this resturant, I decided to come here and I had an experiance what was good in some ways and bad in others.
They had Gluten Free bread from Bfree which was terrific and tasted nearly like normal bread and Gluten Free labelled on the menu.
I had 2 people in my party, not including myself, one ordered Garlic Bread and Cheese and hated it as it was really cheesy and was not enough flavour of the Garlic Bread Just the Cheese. My other friend had a steak baguette and he loved it, he said it was not too overfacing and the Steak was some of the best he had had.
My sandwich was A Tuna Melt with Cheese, they mostly had the Tuna and Cheese in seperate areas however it was still very nice on Bfree Gluten Free bread what tasted nearly like normal bread. It was nice the staff checked the brand for me, so I can buy it myself.
I was also dissapointed that my Baby Poatatos were tasteless and No member of staff came to check up on me. Overall this is a satisfactory resturant but needs to do many things to make it close to perfect.
Large pub in Cheadle hulme with a great beer garden. The decor inside is lovely and they do a pub quiz on a Thursday evening which is great :) if you just fancy a drink then this pub is probably the nicest one in the area, especially in the summer when you can sit outside !
Food on the other hand is VERY average. They have a good menu which includes steaks, ribs, burgers and pasta as well as some of your more 'traditional' pub grub. However, it's quite pricey for the quality of food you get. They do do a number of deals throughout the week which brings the price down, but even then, the steaks tend to be chewy and nothing ever seems to be quite right.. Also, if you want a dessert, be prepared for them to not have your first, second or even third choice in stock!!
If you're after a drink or pub quiz then this pub is spot on, I wouldn't recommend eating here however, unless the sun was shining and you were taking advantage of their beer garden!
Pub downstairs and hotel upstairs. The pub space was large, open, well decorated, and seems to be the happening place evenings and weekends. At first we stopped by for a drink while waiting for friends lodging above; after seeing the menu, we decided to come back for dinner.
I ordered the vegetarian curry with sweet potatoes and peppers. It was deliciously spicy and full of flavor. Definitely a place that I would try again if I get the chance!
Great pub in a great location, prices are average, food is delicious!
Massive outdoor seating area and enough car spaces for 60 cars, I usually come here on Christmas Eve as it's near my parents house- and it's rammed(ticket only)! it's just as bad at weekends and when it's sunny, but it is family friendly. They usually have a singer or live act on a Friday night.
This usd to be a great pub but seems to have down the pan of late. Tatty decor that never feels properly clean. Bar staff lack knowledge of wines/spirits and food isn't up to scratch either
My Mum was taken for a girly get together meal here last week and was very disappointed. Of the five meals ordered only one was even vaguely warm and every meal whether gammon or fish was really burnt and placed best side up as though it would go un-noticed, and the staff were completely disinterested when it was pointed out to them. Also the chips had been re-heated so many times that they were quite inedible.
I thought this place had been taken over and were re-branding themselves but sadly if anything they seem to have gone from bad to worse. It takes a lot to make my Mum complain especially in front of her friends on a special night out and so because of the very poor meals, the staff's lack of interest and refusal to recompense I think they fully deserve to be publicly reviewed like this. Poor Mum got taken by friends(?!) again, Feb 2012 sadly, no improvement.
She will not be going again!
