I used this place for the first time six weeks ago, for some drycleaning and they did an excellent job on my wifes clothes. Inlcuding removing a large quantity of red wine from my wifes dress. I have since returned with shirts and laundry which came back excellent.
The thing that appreciated most of all was the prompt interested and polite service that I have since recieved and better still they remember my name.
I used this place a couple of times and found their dry cleaning barely satisfactory. I had a dress with a chocolate mark on it dry cleaned there and yes, the stain was removed but it took 2 days longer than the assistant told me it would.
However, it is the rude and surly staff (particularly the manager) who put me off returning. He became very argumentative and almost aggressive when I complained. That's no way to keep customers in my opinion!
Also, I believe his name is 'Richard G' which makes me question the authenticity of the above review...
Overpriced laundry service staffed by (at least in the evening, and I'm being nice here) disinterested, poorly trained and not-very-useful individuals.
Our dryer was out of commission and it was raining outside, so we took a couple of loads for a wash & fold service. The "folding" was haphazard at best, and the wash took a day longer than they'd initially stated.
I don't hand out many 1-star reviews, but this place is best avoided.
I cannot remark on the laundry service (though many years ago I was asked not to return after using a self-service washer reserved -- unmarked -- for their drop-off service).
My good rating here is for their dry cleaning service. Only place I know in Belfast that actually PRESSES shirts (not manually iron them). I spent a couple of years finding such a service. For some inexplicable reason, the quaint practice of paying someone to manually iron your shirt still persists here; machine pressing far superior.
Shirts (and other garments) come back completely pressed at The Globe.
I've been using this reliable service at The Globe for over 10 years now.
