Those of you who are searching for a good massage in the City would be curious to try the Ginger Group salon, located in Covent Garden. It is very convenient to get there, especially if you are working near by. Just cross the corner of the loud streets and you will find yourself in a surprisingly peaceful venue, surrounded by small cafés and restaurants. The main focus of the company is obviously hairdressing and waxing. However, massages and facials with Darphin cosmetics is definitely a pleasant addition. Had been here once previously and found the service a little brash, anyway was tempted back by the cut and halfhead high lights for £65. I must say things have very much improved, had a really friendly Australia do my colour which came out well and the stylist (possibly Ricardo?) gave me a nice cut. I had been trying to grow my hair and was fed up of having it cut about 3 inches shorter than I ask. He didn't and I left happy. I'm trying to be on a bit of a budget at the moment and this is certainly cheap by central London standards.
I'm very surprised at the poor reviews I had an excellent experience there today. Altogether it's the third time I've been there once with Groupon, and twice more with an offer they followed up with once the Groupon ended. They were always extremely friendly, professional and did a fantastic job with my hair much better than in other salons, including more expensive ones. I agree it's not a top of the range salon in that it's quite small and not that glamorous, but it's very clean and for the price I paid it was an AMAZING deal and I am much happier with both the colour and the cut than I have been in many other places, including supposedly very upmarket salon. Overall, excellent value, friendly service and a great colour and cut.
Highlighted my hair orange, avoid at all costs.
I went to the Stratford branch for a massage and facial with a Groupon. I arrived and the staff were rude and unwelcoming. The room I was taken to was tiny and there have been no efforts to make it appear relaxing. The music from the hair salon was so loud that I found it hard to relax. The massuese seems inexperienced she failed to ask what sort of pressure I would like and although I asked her to avoid certain areas she kept forgetting. Plus as I was trying to relax she kept trying to sell me additional treatments. I had to tell her 'no' three times. And the final blow was that the treatment was supposed to last an hour and 30 minutes but ended 25 minutes earlier with no explanation.
If I could give this zero I would. Avoid at all costs.
