Popped in here one afternoon with the wife and I was a bit unsure walking in as it was quite busy. After ordering it was clear that it's not the usual rabble you find propping bars up and was really welcoming. Was a bit unhappy that I was the elected driver as would have loved to have stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere a little longer. I saved the location in the sat nav as will definately be going again for food as overheard a few people comment on how good it was.
You normally whiz through Frant on the way to or from Tunbridge Wells. The village is just into East Sussex and has lovely views over to Crowborough Beacon and it's own charming green & cricket pitch surrounded by those beautiful old properties you kinda know you'll never live in, but still want to anyway ! In fact, it is a very attractive village indeed. The George is found in the pleasingly sleepy old High Street which is further into the village centre and not visible from the main road. It's a double fronted place serving Harveys and, on my visit, Cornish Doom Bar. The bar is low ceilinged and cosy and like most village boozers it's had to keep itself going by raising the culinary bar & on last Saturday night it was packed. An obviously good sign. Further more the bar staff were especially friendly and well informed on their beer choice. Both the pub and the village are well worth a visit, I'd be interested to know if any Qypers have eaten there....
