I have to say this is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with in the 9.5 years of running my business. The structure of cleaning is made up of sub-contractors so you sign up with Global and they subcontract to someone who wants to take it on, they then usually subcontract to another individual, sometimes even further. I don't have an issue with subcontracting but by the time the job reaches the individual cleaner, they don't stick to the listed tasks because they were not involved in the original brief. They don't care about what has been agreed to be done as they are only concerned about what they can get done in the 1 hour of pay their contractor has allocated them. We've been complaining since the very beginning and at one stage I went through the process of complaints for poor cleaning and terminated the contract only to have the sales rep beg me to reconsider, which I stupidly did, and to end up with a whole load more of broken promises. We've made agreements with them which get ignored as a new member of staff replaces them. The sales rep lied through his teeth and every time I tried to get him to write something down on his notes, he would write something else and constantly dance around any commitment to putting in writing what he was agreeing with me in the meeting. Their service was so bad at one stage we told them to stop and that we were not going to pay for cleaning of this poor standard and the rep needed to visit urgently for an inspection as agreed. But they continued to allow the cleaner to come and continued to invoice regardless of any communication from our part. Now they have the nerve to threaten us with court action for invalid invoices. There is so much more I could tell but really don't have the energy to do so. I am angered by the company, its staff and the way in which it tries to bully you.
Global - Cleaning made complicated and painful.
I feel sorry for anyone who is stuck in one of their contracts.
As a client I would advise all customers to be careful when taking up a contract with Global. The terms are generally a 24-month contract, meaning that you are unable to leave if there is a problem.
Any problem you identify with your cleaning service (in writing, sent by Recorded Delivery, to Head Office) has to be rectified by them in two weeks (check the wording on your contract). If they do not, and the cleaning service is still poor, then you have the right to declare the contract void.
They will try to wriggle out of this and deflect your letters. But be persistent and do not accept a sub-standard service.
