As a store that exclusively sells video games and nothing else, Game has little or no competition in the town. The only other video game store in Hastings is Gamestation, a chain which is also owned by Game. Consequently, the pricing structure of this store is generally uncompetitive. Most new releases on the two big formats (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360) are priced at the high end price range of £40-£50. These can often be sourced either online or at other stores that do not exclusively sell games at a lower price range of £30-£40.
Positives points of this store are the wide range of products on offer. As well as new releases and top sellers, Game also offer a large catalogue of older releases. Even if not in stock at the time, these can be ordered in and collected from the store when they receive it. A large number of older games on offer also come in the form of pre-owned games. These are generally cheaper than buying the game brand new and there are often bargains to be had. Another point on the subject of the range of products on offer, would be the number of formats available. Game sell titles on all of the currently available formats, still going back to the Playstation 2 format.
Overall impressions from Game are that they offer a good range of products, however many customers are drawn there simply because it is a store that sells only video games and miss the fact that you would be best advised to shop elsewhere for a better price.
