Having not actually had my hair cut since November I was long over due a trim. In fact, as it turned out I was long over due having a good few inches of scraggly hair off my length, but that's what you get if you don't go to the hairdressers often enough. My Mum and I popped into Headingley, as there are a plethora of places to choose from, and since Jam were fully booked I tried my luck with Funct.
I wandered in and asked if they were free to give me a trim and she was able to accommodate me right there and then! Sorted. So I had a seat and she asked me what I was after, so I explained I wanted to keep the length but do something about the fringe I was growing out. I'm not a high maintenance person when it comes to hair, which may well be obvious by now, and so anything that will look as good as possible as soon as I'm out of bed is ideal. (It's a long shot, but worth trying!)
So, she explained how she could take some of the weight off the fringe bit and add in a few layers to frame my face. Lovely! After a quick hair wash, which is always the nice bit, she set to work. Ideally, she'd said, I needed about an inch and a half off but I talked her around to only taking an inch. Perhaps that's not the best way to go about it but I love my long hair. She was happy to go with what I wanted, which is always a bonus as my peeve is a hairdresser who takes over as I never have enjoyed the results!
In about forty minutes she'd finished the cut and styled it perfectly. Throughout we had some pleasant chat, without any awkwardness, and so the whole experience was really pleasant. Whilst there wasn't any coffee on offer (as I usually find in salons) I wasn't particularly bothered as I was in for a quick fix anyhow. It wasn't a huge change, and I hadn't expected one but the subtle differences are fabulous. No more ratty ends and a face-framing new cut - wunderbar! Preparing myself for the usual high end salon prices, and feeling annoyed with myself for not checking how much it was prior to the cut, I wandered over to the cash desk to see the damage. Oh. My. Gosh. Twenty English Pounds. How reasonably is that?! I was so surprised, and pleased, that I asked her to take twenty five.
All in all, for a quick and fabulous cut to freshen your do, at some seriously decent prices this is the place. Awesomes!
