Today i moved from Clapham to East Finchley. SInce i arrived in South West London, some 3 years ago, i was lucky enough to stroll into Frouds and Co - and have never looked for another barbers since.
Frouds & Co is run by two of the nicest blokes in the whole of Clapham - both family men, who are always great for trading stories, Saturday morning banter and random trivia. The tones of the conversations i have had there have always livened up my mornings!
Its cheap. I pay £10:50 for a haircut. Excellent. You can't beat that in London. And if you do, there is every chance you will be going away with a haircut that does not make you nearly as happy as the ones i have do at Froud & Co.
The guys have lots of experience and will always and precisely give you whatever you ask for. I feel that in salons and frumpy hairdressers, you never quite get the service you are looking for (though you do get over charged) and end up with something out of the style of what you wanted. That is never a problem here.
Two professional blokes, serving a local community in the best way they can - and always with smiles on their faces.
As i previously said, i have moved away from Clapham now and will be soon moving away from London before i go travelling - but will defintely never go anywhere else for a haircut (no matter how inconvenient) while in London.
If you live in the Clapham area you should look these guys up :)
It isn't my nearest barber and yet it's still the one I travel that little bit further to visit.
Not sure what they're like if you require something other than the usual trim/strategic shave that I require these days, as the hair on my head increasingly gives up the ghost, but for my needs they are spot on.
No fuss, no coffee, no tea (I'm simply not in there that long) but you do get a lively line in friendly banter for the first and last few minutes, with the desired focus on your follicles in between.
Also I find the opening hours really help when you work 45 minutes away and have a busy lifestyle/Saturday lie-in.
Great basic cut, and great guys running the place especially if you like to talk bikes.
