One review for Fishworks Restaurant

simple and fresh seafood, so it seems to be, with interesting menu selections.
we ordered some bread and that was a disappointment.
3 miserable pieces of foccacia and 3 pieces of ciabatta, served with aioli and pesto olive oil as dipping sauces but the bread was cold and dry.
we had the white bait with aioli, salt and pepper squid, fish soup to start.
the white bait was nicely fried, crispy and lightly salted.
the squid was really ordinary, a little too wet for my liking.
the fish soup was rich and tasty but could do with a few pieces of chunky fish.
another starter that did not show up was the half dozen of mixed oysters that we ordered.
somehow the staff thought we were having it as a main!??
sigh......he must be new in F&B.
it ended up the last item to show up, after all our mains had arrived.
the oysters were very fresh and chilled but somehow it was a little too sea water salty.
we also had the steam mussels and the roasted cod(a blackboard special).
the mussels were sweet but too small in size and some were sandy.
the cod was served on a bed of mash with cherry tomatoes and olives.
unfortunately, it lacked character and was too bland tasting.
