Exel Wines

Exel offers what you look for in locally owned business. This is one of many local shops in Perth that I'm always amazed that I don't hear people talking about. They're the best wine and whisky specialists in town. They have friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about their products. There have been a few times I've been here shopping for whisky for friends before visiting the states. My friends will let me know what they like in a whisky, I pass the info onto the staff at the shop, and get a choice that's spot-on for my friends. And that's after getting to sample one or two ;)

One of the best things about the place is that they occasionally do free tastings. Some of the past ones I've had the privilege of going to were Innis and Gunn, Eden Brewery, Torres wines and most recently Mission Estate from New Zealand. On top of getting an educational experience of the making of such drinks, you get numerous samples and even a 10% discount on anything in the shop on the night. Get on their email list and you'll be kept in the loop for the tastings.

Changing to 5 stars since going to multiple events here and getting great expertise and sales! Love this place !

Got a tip from a friend about big discounts from this shop for a limited period. So we went and had a great shopping experience. The assistant was full of great advice, catering for our requirements. We walked away with a couple of cases of genuinely reduced red wine. Very happy, would shop again. Strongly believe you get what you pay for. If you want to believe you got a good deal from tescos with your Hardy's reduced from £7.99 to £4.99, so be it. Awesome to find better choice, better wines, better deals from small in dependant business

I found Exel Wines website after searching for a product. I was slightly put off by the fact their website seemed rather unprofessional in that some of the features did not work correctly and there was a lack of images for the products they were advertising. However as they had the product that I was wanting and it stated on the product info that it would be available within 2-5 days. I decided to go ahead with the purchase. The payment was taken immediately, however after 7 days I had still not received my order. I contacted the company via email and got no response for 2 days. When the reply did come they stated that it had been delayed but assured me that it would be coming very soon. I wasn't too happy with this especially as they had stated on their website that it was in stock. However I waited, only to receive another email from them 5 days later to inform me that they could not fulfil my order and that they had refunded my money. I would not deal with this company again as it seems the are unprofessional, making claims on their site that the cannot adhere to. Customer service seems poor when it takes them 2 days to respond to a customer and also I feel they should have contacted me first anyway to inform me about my order. I definitely would not recommend this company. I've gave them 1 star but that's only because I had to give some rating. I wouldn't have given any otherwise.
