Ethel Austins is great for anyone, especially families, on a budget. I highly recommend it for people with babies or children who grow out of clothing so quickly that it's often daft to fork out for more expensive clothes. the ranges are decent and all encompassing i.e daywear, nightwear, underwear etc and they even stock small nursery products and items too, it's always worth a look because you'll be surprised what you might find and you can get a lot of clothing for your money.
They do also stock womans and mens clothing but they're not high fashion like many highstreet retailers, however they do the job and are ideal fro casual basics.
For layout and stock range, the Swinton branch is actually one of my preferred branches for visiting. the layout is more intuitive and they have a large children/baby range which is what I initially go there for. It's light and is a little less cramped then some of the other branches.
However, on multiple occasions the staff do tend to 'dump' their display making trolleys and stock trolleys in the baby aisle. Not only is this a hazard but it also makes it incredibly difficult, nigh impossible, to get around with a buggy which to be honest the majority of people looking at baby clothes will have one! If it was just the once it could be put down to a mere oversight but for it to occur constantly it is a simple case of laziness and lack of thinking from the staff.
The staff can be friendly but have at times been a little ill trained with till functions and aren't always 'on the ball' but they're pleasant enough.
