The Electric Mountain is one of the best attractions in Llanberis and well worth a look, if only because it's just so different to anything else in the area. The entrance to the Electric Mountain is in Llanberis, in front of the entrance to Park Padarn, so before you even embark on the trip the scenery is wonderful, all year round. The trip takes you by bus into the inside of Eledris mountain to the Dinorwig power station to see the workings of the electic mountain.
As you travel on the bus you see the various pumps working to produce electricity, and then there's a stop inside to watch a film. The tour itself is a little boring but interesting nonetheless, and a one-off experience.
Sadly, photographs aren't allowed to be taken, and you're not allowed to carry anything in with you, including handbags.

A truly fantastic afternoon's guided tour around europe's largest hydro electric power station. We went to the Llanberis attraction on a wet Monday afternoon during the half term break.I had been ther years ago on an open day but memories fade and we were glad we revisited again. You first go to the electric mountain museum in the village to purchase the tickets and the procced on to a shuttle bus to take you into the mountain.hard hats are given to you as you leave the museum. The drive down into the mountain is about half a mile. The guide then takes you into a auditorium for a show of how they built the place.Awsome engineering that took place. Its then onto the actual generator and WOW huge machines all underground. Its hard to dercribe but if you get the opportunity visit this place.
