Elbow is a a diamond of a bar which has fitted into the commnunity perfectly, obviously run by people who know what they are doing and more importantly what the locals want.
We normally pop in for a mid week glass of wine, the staff are without fail always friendly , food well priced and top notch I highly recommend the home made fish finger sandwich!
Elbow's atmosphere is terrific. Lots of seating, good music, good furnishings, clean bathrooms. But the service is excruciatingly slow. The food is good when it comes out, but can sometimes be cold if you're with a group and it sometimes takes almost an hour for a group to be fed.
Great menu, the ingredients seem fresh enough. The staff is even nice - service just needs to be a lot faster. Do go there with a group of friends, don't go there if you need to be back at work on time at lunch.
I'm fortunate enough to have Elbow as my local, it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, its great for a quiet drink with friends or to sit and read a book with a coffee.
The food is great, I highly recommend the lime and pepper calamari!
The staff are always very helpful and friendly, they know their products well so do ask what they recommend.
Had a good, gastro-pub quality dinner here a week or so ago. The anti-pasti sharer for two was maybe slightly on the small side as a dish for a duo with bread making up for slightly less meat and veg than the description would have you expect but then the chilli main course was a very good size so balance was restored. My companion's burger also went down a treat. No ales on tap unfortunately but overall the impression given was of somewhere I'd like to go back to for a few drinks on a weekend night.
Visited this bar on Sunday with three friends and I have to say, that it was a very enjoyable few hours we spent there. All the seats downstairs were taken (there's only a few, maybe 4/5 plus seating at the bar) but we managed to get a table without any problems upstairs. As soon as I noticed the wide variety of board games available, I knew we were on to a winner. The guy that was working behind the bar was really friendly and offered to make us some weird and wonderful cocktails, which, of course, we accepted (rude not to). The prices were really reasonable too (4 burgers w/ chips plus 3 drinks each (including cocktails) = £59). Our friends stay round the corner so I will definitely be back here
I've visited this place on many occasion and i'd highly recommend it!
The decor is trendy yet comfortable, i love the quirky artwork on the walls.
The food here is amazing whether you want a snack or a slap up meal. the staff are friendly and are very attentive. There is always well considered wine choices available too.
It's great for drinks and the quality live music and djs create a brilliant atmosphere.
On the whole i think this joint deserves a 5 star!
Great food and drink, lovely staff and generally a nice wee bar. Definitely going back for more!!
