Part of the same group as Bluebeckers, this is one step up from a family restaurant and is more 'fine dining'.
The menu is always varied with some excellent specials on offer. The bread basket brought round at the beginning has some lovely and different breads and they are not adverse to letting you help yourself more than once!
There is a conservatory which is great if there are a group of you and the atmosphere is relaxed and generally convivial. This is often near the top of the list if my husband and I have a night out without the children.
Parking is limited in Shepperton square opposite unless you are there ridiculously early, but there is a large free car park about a two or three minute walk away
Good food, pleasant location good service. And even better if you get one of their Gold Cards, 30%(?) off food some lunchtimes and early evenings. it's only £10.. you'll get it back very quickly. It's fine for a special meal.
It's in the same chain as Bluebeckers but up a notch in quality and more peaceful.
I had dinner here as part of a large corporate outing. The fact that they placed us in the conservatory so that we effectively had a private dining room was great. The service was good, there was a great deal of variety on the menu and it represented excellent value for money. We have a lot of group meetings in the Shepperton area and would definitely use Edwinns again.
I was running a corporate event at the hotel down the road and my colleague and I decided to dine here in preference to the hotel as we would be stuck there for the nect 24 hours. What a mistake!
I failed to spot it was part of a chain, which I normally avoid like the plague. The food was like a Berni Inn c.1982 with very obviously frozen starters and packet sauces. I had a steak which was as tough as old boots and massively under-cooked.
The only thing 21st Century about the whole experience was the bill, which, for the quality was enormous.
My favourite restaurant in Shepperton and a real find although parking can be tricky. Edwinns retains a discrete charm in its atmosphere and the food never disappoints, being fairly classic, but always made with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Portions are just right, and the wine list is nt over priced. Perfect for couples, or for an anniversary. A lot of locals will eat here as their favourite occasion diner. Service is excellent, not hovering but directly there when you look round. Super job - hope not too many people read this though as I should have liked to keep it as my little secret!
