As with other reviewers, I was interested to see what others had thought of Dr PJ in the light of my own experience of having treatments with her for a year and a half and being astonished at her attitude.
While I found her staff to be reasonably pleasant, they were obviously very nervous about upsetting her and getting things wrong.
I had botox with her, and was originally told that if it was not quite right i could return within a specific period to have it reviewed at no charge. I had to do this a couple of times as some of the botox had taken asymmetrically on my forehead, and each time I was submitted to a sulk. It was quite obvious that she did not like to spend any time doing anything at no charge.
One time, she told me that I had not wanted an immobile forehead, and this was why the result was as it was (asymmetrical!). To be frank, she has so little interest in her patients, that she would not have remembered anything that I had said 3 or 4 weeks previously. She then proceeded to inject me and quickly saw me out of her room. I went to check my face in the mirror and was horrified to see that I had a number of big bubbles under the skin of my forehead. She had not even bothered to manipulate the botox or rub it in, and probably imagined that I would walk out into the street looking like that! I looked as though I had large bubbles in the forehead, and vowed then never to return.
Her behaviour was quite extraordinary. She is very sulky and discourteous, unless you are praising her work. Any problems and she does not want to know. Why would anyone (especially a doctor) behave in this way? It is worth noting , as did one of the other reviewers, that she is not a dermatologist, but a former paediatric cardiologist who converted into a higher paying area of medicine. She is not interested in her clients (well not in a non-celebrity such as myself), nor really in doing a professional job. We just make up a production line, to be got through as fast as possible.
During a previous appointment, she had recommended some skincare products which I purchased, and also gave me a prescription for some cream. On paying a total of a good few hundred pounds for treatment and products, I found that I was also being charged around £70 for the prescription! A disgrace.
There are plenty of great doctors out there, and I have found those at Medicetics to be absolutely wonderful. They have not forgotten that they are Doctors first and foremost and still have integrity and kindness while doing fabulous work.
The only decent thing about Dr FPJ is her staff. And no wonder they keep vanishing!! I can't blame them!!! I've heard the way she talks to them!!! Shocking. If it wasnt for them i most certainly wouldn't return! I know I'm not alone in thinking this!!! This place is a nightmare and good luck to you trying to keep an appointment with her I've been rescheduled almost every time I come It's awful!!! And most of the time I can only guess is because she just can't be bothered to see her paying patients!!! My advice to you all Go find another aesthetics clinic There are plenty!!! Just don't bother wasting your time here.
Both these reviews ring true with me. I booked an appointment and when I arrived nobody answered the door (even though I was on time). I went away for 10 minutes and was let in. The receptionist said I couldn't have the infra-red light treatment (that I have had at a number of salons and does not need to be administered by a doctor) that I had booked as I needed to see the doctor first. This had not been mentioned at the time of booking.
Then Dr P-J appeared, in a frightful rush, very offhand, but deigned to speak to me for a few valuable moments. Yes I could have the treatment she conceded graciously, just this one time. So I had went into the infra red treatment pod for 20 minutes. I came out sweating as it was very hot in there, looking forward to using the pristine shower. `Oh no, you can't use the shower!' said the assistant, quite shocked at the very thought. `Nobody has ever used it before'.
This treatment is effective but I shall be doing it elsewhere in future. The salon is inefficient and the doctor rather rude (unless one is a Saudi potentate or celebrity perhaps).
I predict the good doctor's time in the sun will soon be over!
I turned up at 11:04 for my 11am appt after driving in insane traffic to get there to be turned away- very rudely- for being 4 minutes late. She treats her staff like garbage as well- they are all miserable and terrified of the very mini dictator. Her hubris is unbelievable. If you are a star, you get the phony smile and red carpet charm. I prefer genuine kindness and talent myself.
Please do not waste your money at this clinic. Dr. Prenna Jones is NOT a Dermatologist. I visited this clinic in the quest for good skin, resulting in a lot of time and money spent with very poor results. I had many reservations about the treatment I received, but all my concerns were dismissed in a very condescending fashion. The service was brusk and borderline rude, a case of hype over substance I was always given the impression, time was money, which came across very crass. I have now found a wonderful Dermatologist who is not only one of the best in London, but shows empathy and understanding to her clients and above all values their custom.
Had been a client of Dr. Frances Prenna Jones for more than 3 years. And I had been happy enough with the results to put up with the overpriced treatments and products and occasional diva-esque unprofessionalism. To elaborate on the latter, on more than one occasion I would arrive for an appointment to be told it was changed to another day or time and that they had called to inform me (which was a bold faced lie) or they simply would tell me that for privacy reasons they could not let me into the clinic because all the waiting areas were being occupied and could I go away and come back in 20 minutes!!!! However, the final straw came when I was lied to -I went to do a repeat of a treatment that had been successful in the past. Even though it appeared with a different name on the jar I was told it was the same product and that they had just changed the name. Post treatment results were poor and nothing like the first time. I repeatedly complained, came back in to see her and was told that maybe it was because my skin had changed which was why I hadn't had same result. And told nothing more could be done. She sent me away keeping my money. Turned out she was using a different product on me (despite telling me it was the same). I since used the product I was supposed to be getting at another clinic, for a cheaper cost, with excellent results. Will never go back to FPJ and I have many friends that have stopped going as well because they have been treated badly.
