Watch out people: the tile is back. And we're not talking about the vile green and pink tiles your parents had to rip out of the bathroom when they realised the 70s were over.
Dominic Crinson is an innovative and forward thinking designer who uses simple and age old design staples like wallpaper and tiles as his canvas. There are all types of designs here, from the subtle to the veritably garish, yet somehow they are all quite entrancing, especially in the patterns that repeat themselves like mosaics.
My advice would be that if you have something like this on your walls or floor, the rest of the room should be more or less minimal or even colourless.
I would say this is almost the epitome of contemporary british design. They manufacture luxury interior products, more specifically wallpaper and tiles. The exciting thing about their creations is how striking, bold and colourful they are. The products range from cross section of fruits, from apples to oranges to the inside of a mushroom. That once placed in repeat, form an amazing range of patterns, intricate and fun. The shop is an incredible mix of samples from all their collections, and you must have a look at their 2008 'Ensemble 1'. My favourite tile from that collection is the one that looks like green spaghetti that hangs freely from the top. It is hard to describe but amazing to look at. Also their 'Flirty' collection, has striking reds and pinks that would give a bold look to any interior. The saleswoman asked if I was interested in any commercial or residential work, I kindly responded with a smile 'as of now I am interested but not just yet'.
