Biggest portions I've had in the UK.
Very relaxed service- definitely necessary to demand the server's attention. Do not eat here if pressed for time. However, If hungry enough to eat the food of several people, this place is for you.
Excellent Ramen- loads of vegetarian options.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Simon S.Leeds, West Yorkshire238510 Jun 2010
DOJOS ARE MY HEROES!!!!!!
I went to Queens' college so whenever I didn't like the look of what was being served in hall or couldn't be bothered cooking or just felt it had been too long since I'd been to Dojos, I'd head over and get my fix.
They do takeaway which is awesome but I especially like going in and having a sit down. When the weather's dry they have seats outside which are really nice for if you have a group.
The portions are brilliant for the price you pay and everything is so tasty. It literally comes straight out of the pan, onto your plate and to your table in about 30 seconds. You can take your time over eating and drinking but there's never much of a wait to actually get your food so it's perfect if you want to get a really quick restaurant meal and don't want to stoop to the depths of McDonalds and co.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (BushGi…)London1973881087 Nov 2007
If you need loads of food, fast then make a beeline for Dojo's. This noodle bar plonked in a courtyard just up from the river Cam is a hot favourite with students and locals. It's relatively tiny so when busy you might have to wait to get seated or sit outside under the patio heaters on the plastic furniture. Inside you get sat on long tables with benches so will often be next to strangers or shuffling your bum against the person sitting behind you and facing the opposite direction. The service is usually fast and efficient sometimes to the point that you feel you're being rushed out for more customers to be processed through.
The noodles (or rice) come fried, sauce based or in soup. Whichever you choose you get a massive pile of hot fresh noodles. Most dishes are around £5-£7 which makes it really good value. You can get unlimited green tea for £1.50 which they keep going round to top up.
I definitely recommend Dojo's if you're in the mood for oriental food and your belly is rumbling to be stuffed to the brim but your wallet is meekly putting their hand up to say 'shouldn't we really just boil some pasta at home? Oh, it's only £5, well, OK'.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Cybur…)London64025 Sept 2008
One of my favourite oriental food places in Cambridge.
The dishes there are reasonably priced, yet plently - the chicken with satay sauce is a must with noodles, the takeaway prices are slightly cheaper than the eat-in prices.
Though the place itself is small so best go with people if you planning on eat there or if on your own, takeaway.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (glitte…)Cambridge11115319 Nov 2008
This place is amazing when it comes to super fast service, reasonably priced (huge) portions and delicious oriental food. Last time I went I ordered the veggie pad Thai - and literally two minutes later, there it was! My friends (who ordered various stir fries and curries) weren't disappointed either. The freshly squeezed juices are also lush.
The portions were absolutely massive. We could easily have made those portions last for two meals had the food not been so good and we hadn't been so greedy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Loti B.Erharting, Germany170078612 May 2011
Offers various Asian noodle sauces, Malaysian style was very well.
In the backyard you can eat in relaxed atmosphere. Lunchtime is also busy here, whilst the neighbour Indian restaurant was quite empty. Quick service, the manager keeps a tightly organized regime, and tourists were welcome.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica C.Cambridge751415 Apr 2011
Umm...this isn't really authentic Asian food (as someone in town led me to believe. I guess you can fool any out-of-towner). It does give you what the college student needs: big portions, fiber with a fair portion of salt and soy sauce to don the "Asian" term, and a cheap price.
I'm not slamming it, but I'm just calling it out there that it's not really Asian food--it just uses some ingredients you would see in Asian cuisine, toss them into a wok or pot, and add some water and soy sauce. Don't expect to come here for cheap authentic dining.
Just want to manage expectations for those who were curious whether they'd get an authentic experience. That being said, large portions, decent service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (trinit…)Cambridge25417 Nov 2008
A small, great value-for-money independent noodle bar located in a courtyard of shops off Mill Lane, near the river Cam.
It is no surprise that Dojo's is popular with Asian and European students, tourists and locals alike, as they serve huge bowls of freshly prepared steaming Asian noodle soups, Thai curries and stir fries to hungry customers at great prices. Some side dishes such as satay skewers are also available, but beware: the portions are huge more than generous. If you can't manage your whole dish just ask for a doggy bag. There are options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, as well as for dishes for those who like their food more or less spicy. Dojos is licensed but do try the delicious green tea!
The customers sit at long communal tables inside or under patio heaters outside. It is not possible to make a reservation but there is never a long wait for a couple of spaces. The service is amazingly quick and quietly friendly, making it an ideal place to grab some lunch or a quick bite to eat before going out to the cinema or theatre.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (corvic…)Cambridge08021 Nov 2008
Another one of the nice noodle bars in cambridge, although maybe not the best one. What you get for your money is definetly worth it though, as I never managed to eat a whole dish by myself.
They even give you a 10% discount on take aways, so in summer time: grab your food and sit down by the river!
Only once I ordered beef in black been sauce which was so salty that I could not eat it. I would go there again though, I let them off for that since they are normally really nice. Also, if you order chinese tea, which is very cheap anyway, they refill your glass for free (as many times as you want and you dont even have to ask).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
