Great mood in the place i would say an underdog in the frankfurt night.
middle XX century style, suit dressed waiters, great selection of spirits..
a place to go once in frankfurt
With internet/smartphones/Yelp... Speakeasies just aren't the same.
I have been to a number of bars in Frankfurt but the Rote Bar stands out entirely. They really know this business.
First of all you get drinks there that you won't find at other places. Drinks you only knew from other countries. Every drink I had there was amazing. So they delivered in the main category!
The atmosphere is unique. It looks and feels mysterious and the main bar table with its red nipples helps creating that atmosphere. It's very different and refreshing.
The barkeepers are truly astonishing and wizards. Watching them mix a drink is a spectacle and you see their passion and perfection in the process.
This bar used to be an insiders tip but the city catched up and it's well known by now.
Overall this is the place to be!
Unique atmosphere and service, great cocktails, professional, emotionless staff in crisp black and white uniforms, a great spot to drink into the small hours in Lynchian limbo
We were a group of 5 about a week ago who were refused access because the maximum number of people allowed to enter simultaneously was 4. (How ridiculous of a system is that?) The problem was not this but the way the gentleman at the door communicated the bar rules. Disappointing manner the kind of which makes you choose the next best bar in town immediately. We left the place after waiting outside for 15 minutes as none of us felt like it anymore. Now get the twist: some friends got there 5 minutes before and were already inside waiting for us. I understand that ours was not the first experience with a cocky and overly self-important staff at this venue. Red Bar: not impressed.
Small bar with a special flair. They have a doormen and staff that is dressed in black and knows their trade. So be aware that you won't get in with jeans or short trousers or anything casual looking. Yet, they have great cocktails and if you are up for a fancy evening this might be the place you are looking for.
