2 reviews for Dhaka Biryani
All Reviews
Dhaka Biryani finds itself in a fierce curry environment. Situated in whitechapel, the place is literally 2 doors down from another biryani place, and a stone's throw from many other asian food restaurants.
I haven't tried them all, but this place stands out. Trusting the name, I ordered a biryani with chicken. It was damn good.
The chicken was fall apart tender...I cut it with a spoon. The rice veggie mix was spicy and plentiful, and the take away container was a convenient tupperware box that I can reuse.
I wish it had been a little less oily, but it is biryani I suppose. If you're in the neighborhood, check this place out for fast, cheap, and generous biryani.
Really good little place. They do say that all the good curry places are actually in Whitechapel rather than Brick Lane and while I wouldn't say that Dhaka was one of the places that those people were talking about, it does the job very well.
We wanted to go to Lahore One but we had taken too long to get there so we were looking for some kind of fast food, pretty late on a Friday night and we found here. You can get 3 different curries and rice for £3.50 if your a vegetarian and £4.50 if you want to ruin the environment and eat meat. I jest. Plus he chucked in a naan.
It's great inside too: OTT South Asian design touches everywhere from the white horned chairs to the faux marble tables.
Just great.
