Dappa is a brilliant place for men to get their hair cut. Men who don't want to feel like they've had their wallet stolen every time they've needed a decent haircut. They have some very modern, cool barbers (stylists, hairdressers...whatever you call them) who will do a really decent job for a very reasonable price. And they'll wash your hair, make you a cup of tea and let you watch sky sports news. Perfect.
The staff are great, always a good laugh and very friendly. The salon itself is a very cool, stylish place with high backed leather chairs and marble counters. It's definitely a new sort of barbers and an experience I would recommend to any man looking for a classy alternative to the usual hairdresser at a great price.
Apparently they do cut ladies hair as well, but I wouldn't know much about how well they do that.
There was a time when looking sharp, clean and crisp wasn't really my thing; I wasn't overly concerned with the image I was portraying. But then there was a time when I played with my GI Joe under my sister's bed - times change.
Dappa Barbering is one of two barbers (the other in Bath) offering a very new and unique experience, and one that I like very much. This is more of an afternoon out than a quick nip down the local trimmers. Think of a big hall with splashes of modern style and charm. Black and white canvas posters of James Bond (Moore no less) and Marilyn Monroe adorn the high walls adding more touches of class. A well groomed and polite young gent stands at reception taking appointments and lining up trims for the day whilst in the background the professionals get to work.
This is a new and modern look at an old profession that's managed to hold on to a distinctly stylish and charismatic vibe.
It is, for want of a better word, distinctly Dappa.
