We were really impressed by this no nonsense, friendly, community cafe. The service was excellent. Our drinks order was taken as soon as we sat down. Our coffees arrived quickly (proper milky, frothy caff coffee), as did our piping hot breakfast soon after.
The cafe was pleasant to be in and we weren't rushed out, despite it packing out as we tucked in. The pictures and photos on the walls give the place a modern appearance and it was spotless, well deserving of the 5 out of 5 awarded by the council for hygiene.
Our two chef's breakfasts with coffees and extra hash browns came to £9. Excellent value.
Finally, a non- greasy greasy spoon! It's not going to get a Michelin star but it serves good, honest food, which was tasty and great value. Just what we needed. They also do a selection of dinners. The Sunday roasts looked good too.
We will be returning soon.
Daisy's Diner is a regular part of my 'visit the inlaws' routine. I'm not too familiar with the area, but Addiscombe road appears to be full of old fashioned family owned, independent shops. It's a bit of a throwback to a time before supermarkets and chain stores. Anyway, Daisy's Diner is a proper cafe where regulars walk in and order 'the usual' to eat while reading the paper. The service is friendly and the food arrives quick. My mouth's watering just thinking about it.
