3 reviews for Cupcake Emporium

Pretty, pretty, pretty and so yummy!
I loved the cupcake emporium establishment, so 1950's.
I organise burlesque events and the cupcakes will match perfectly the night. I have spoken to them to provide birtday cupcakes for the next event on the 25th of April (http://corsetanddiamon...)
I can't wait to see all guests' faces when we bring them out!
I've been watching Yelpers post reviews, in search of the perfect cupcake in London and from their reviews, cupcake making would seem to be quite an exact science. Well, I'm not a cupcake afficianado but I would like to dedicate this review to all of those Yelp cupcake addicts.
I stumbled upon this little cafe. It's about 2 minutes walk from Hyde Park and is located in between Lancaster Gate, Paddington and Queensway Tube stations. They've tried to create a 50s American theme with a little juke box.
The cafe specialises in cupcakes, which are apparently made to a tradiltional recipe. I can't vouch for authenticity but they do taste lovely. I had the banana split, peanut butter, lemon dream and apple pie versions, which were yummy.
They also specialise in coffee, which can be served hot or iced but I had a milkshake, which was OK but I've had better in London.
For those who may want to work on your laptops, there's free wi-fi too (Laura N & Larissa D!).
A lot of customers did come just to get takeaway boxes of cupcakes. So they must be doing something right with the recipe!
So if you want to have your (cup)cake and eat it, head over to Cupcake Emporium.
Yesterday after having a massive cupcake craving, I searched Yelp to come across Cupcake Emporium. The reviews sounded great and so off I went on my lunch break. The location is super close to the tube, thankfully because I always seem to get lost. The restaurant was cute, 50's American Bandstand playing in the background, plenty of free magazines to keep you entertained while you enjoy your cupcake and great, friendly service. I was super excited to see that each cupcake only has 130 calories, so I ordered 2! I had the vanilla with vanilla and red velvet. For me, the frosting was a just a bitty-bit too sweet and the cake slightly too dry, almost crunchy. But for the small amount of calories and the fair price I would indulge on more the next time I'm in the neighbourhood.
