Whenever we go out for a Chinese meal, the Cottage Imperial is the restaurant we choose. It's a bit of a quirky place, as the restaurant is upstairs (no good for disabled access); downstairs there is simply a little waiting room where you can sit if you've ordered a take away.
Upstairs there are quite few tables, and we've never had any problems with them fitting us in. The staff are all very polite and friendly, and rapidly get to know regular visitors. If you have a table by the window then the view is of the flow of traffic into and out of Abingdon - it's not at all unpleasant to sit and watch the world go by.
The menu is large, and everyone should be able to find their favourites as well as some new things to try. The food is very good - tasty, fresh and hot when it arrives.
Good food, good service and the ability to cater for large parties makes the Cottage Imperial a very good restaurant to visit.
