I'm very satisfied with the piercing I had done here. I told them what I wanted and they asked me to return in half an hour as the waiting area is very small, but apparently you can call day-of to book a time. Very reasonably priced, and they use an autoclave for sterilization. The staff are very friendly, and the manager's mother was even hanging out there.
The only reduction is for the terribly uncomfortable seat in the entry/lounge. (I'll also add that it is unconnected to the cheesy tourist shop downstairs.)
I have little experience with the gift shop downstairs.. But this is the only place I have got a peircing and I've been here twice!
Ok.. both reasons for having a drastic change were predictably down to break ups. and somehow getting a peice of metal stabbed through my eyebrow and later nose, made me feel deliciously rebleous..
anyway... back to the business,,, well what can I say Coldsteel still to this day, is the only place i would trust to have a foreign body implanted though the surface of my skin.
The staff are all really ( without sounding like a granny) genuine, clean and responsible. Both times i had a lovely girl.. I've forgotten her name but I do know she studied textiles at Chelsea Art College.
Well she great, I was a nervous wreck. I had my hand in my trouser pocket and actually managed to rip the thing off! Neverless she got me a glass of water and let me have a lye down to gain my consciousness again.
Go get Studded here!!! Do it ! Do it!
When I worked in Camden I used to go here pretty much every other pay day to get a new piercing (so it's lucky I only worked there for 6 months!)
Great staff who make you feel really relaxed if you are nervous and will always advise you on the best size/style of piercing to get tailored to you rather than what you think would work. (Which is nice as my friend started to get very carried away with the idea of a plug but he has tiny earlobes so it really wouldn't have been very practical...)
Again, if I was ever going through with the needle, and embarking upon life with pieces of metal looped through some part of my body, don't think I would begin on this alternative quest in this particular part of Camden. And this is a particularly funny shop, who would thought of tagging a large and quite plentiful (essentially) gift shop onto a piercing 'studio'? Genius? HHhmm, I wonder. So whilst I didn't drop in for a piercing, I did wander round the shop itself and was largely bored, it seems it's here mainly for tourists who don't have the time or chance to actually visit 'Britain' and need Camden to sell them the condensed version.
So, fake football tops - yes. Union Jack aprons - oh yes! London hoodies and boxer shorts with the tube map on them. Mini plastic statuettes of Big Ben. Diana keyrings. Gone with the Wind calendars. Do you get the picture? The Horror, The Horror...
Tat, all of it. And it's places like this which really bring down this wonderful country. They should be ashamed. Literally, I'm embarrassed they let places like this get away with it. And that's before you've even seen which parts of which people they're sticking the barbs through next door...
I had a great experience at Cold Steel from start to finish. Julie was a fantastic piercer, very professional and reassuring. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a piercing.
I went to cold steel to get my piercing as some of my friends had recommended it.
Generally, I agree with others here, the studio was clean and the staff were professional.
I didn't book an appointment, and only had to wait ten minutes.
The lovely blonde lady did my piercing and she was fantastic, she answered all of my questions, was really thorough in explaining aftercare and put me at ease.
However, i went back one month later as i was asked to, and explained I was concerned that my piercing wasn't healing well.
The man on the desk was Incredibly rude, and basically told me i wasn't looking after it properly, while i tried to explain that i was doing everything i had been told to, he interrupted me to tell me i was lying. He offered no helpful advice and I was reluctant to go back again because he'd been so rude.
In the end i just took my piercing out because it hadn't healed at all.
Such a shame this guy was so rude because the lady was so good.
I wouldn't go back.
