I've only been here once, but I will be back, as it really serves to fill my Mexican void. I just moved to Stuttgart from Southern California so I'm sure the longer I'm away from my people, the more important this restaurant will become. The food was pretty good - I had a burrito, which is more like a square pillow, than a burrito to hold with your hands. I got the spiciest version, which wasn't too hot at all, but it had some nice heat (more than most German versions of scharf). They serve pitchers of margaritas and have various Mexican beers available. I had the Negra Modelo. It's a 100 percent better than any Taco Bell anywhere. I had the shrimp and spinach burro, but I heard the beef and spinach is money. I'll try that one next time.
So, if you're a Mexi or have memories of Taco Tuesdays in SoCal, don't go in there thinking that your grandma is cooking in the kitchen. However, it'll give you a nice piece of home. Plus, the owner is pretty funny & cool. He's an English dude that dishes out jokes, along with the food. I told him I would be judging him as I'm of Mexican decent, which he quickly responded with that he is a chef, what am I? Ha! Good one.
Pro tip: There are some parking spots behind the restaurant through a covered alleyway.

We were not disappointed at all with the food or service. The chicken quesadillas were out standing. The homemade tortilla chips were great. I thought the guacamole had way too much garlic but others may like a lot of garlic.
It's a cozy environment with indoor and outdoor seating to take advantage of the great weather we've been having. It isn't Mexican food like I'm used to in southern Arizona but its fantastic for what it is.

Maybe 2.5 stars? I'm thorn because I actually enjoyed the place and what I mean is, not bad mexican food for European standards but still it just doesn't do my childhood memories justice. Maybe I'm just biased because I'm mexican. What's this poor brownie gonna do? I can't even cook my own stuff in Europe because THERE ARE NO INGREDIENTS to be found :(
We ordered margaritas, which tasted like kool-aid... not really my cup of tea. So better to stick to bohemia (so hard to come across this days, even in Mexico) and tequila 1800, straight.
There was a nice ambiance, that is for sure. Drinks sparkling with fireworks in the dim lighting and a wonderful spanish (no people, that is NOT mexican music) band playing Gypsy Kings. Complete with flamenco dancers. Oh-so-nice :)

My wife and were in Stuttgart November of 2011 and decided to stop here to try the Mexican food. The owner is a Brit who worked as a Mexican chef in the past and has owned a couple of other restaurant's. Everything is made fresh and I mean everything! that includes the chips and salsa!
My wife had the Chimichonga and had a a burrito.. The chimichanga was baked, not fried and my wife loved it. She said it was one of the best she had ever had. The Burrito I had was outstanding. Very fresh with a side of beans and lightly spices rice.. If we had known about this place when we first arrived in Stuttgart, we would have eaten there at least two times!.. I highly recommend the place!

I have heard mixed reviews on this restaurant from others who enjoy Mexican food. I think this is a case of people having specific expectations. I really like the food here.
The owner is a Brit who trained in California and worked as a Mexican chef in California for 27 years, before opening this restaurant in Germany.
He makes everything fresh, to include the chips, salsa, and guacamole. He told me about the chimichanga and that it was baked and not fried, so I ordered it and really enjoyed it. The home made guacamole was not my favorite but everything else was really good

Most importantly, the food is not authentic Mexican food. Everything is spicy to some extent. (The kids don't eat spicy food so the owner graciously ends up making something that's not on the menu to accommodate them) The food itself is almost Tex-Mex style, but not even the burritos come close to Mexican food standards of the Latino community. I enjoy the food, which doesn't taste bad at all. But I have to remind myself that we're not in California so that my taste buds don't expect authenticity. I grew up in Southern California and I'm a Latin American, born in Central America. I miss the food on the west coast. The restaurant is nice. The ambience plays well (but again, not authentic). I'm eager to find a genuine Mexican restaurant in Stuttgart. Meanwhile, this place is conveniently close to the installation, the prices are fair, the portions are sufficient, as well as the service. We do enjoy ourselves on the occasions we decide to dine here. Would give at least 4 stars if the food gained authenticity, while preserving its other qualities.
