Was walking by on a Saturday afternoon and saw several people outside hanging out, so thought this would be a great spot to check out. So came back on a Wednesday night and was pretty quiet. Overall ok place, bet it's pretty fun on the weekends.

There was something vaguely pleasant and cosy about this place, but when I think about it..it didn't look like my kind of pub and there was no real ale (and only 1 person serving..so a wait.....for Greene King keg products (never my favourite on a good day)). So why did I kinda like it? I guess because for somewhere right by canary wharf, it just doesn't look or feel like the kind of pub you find in that part of town, like it was there before it all sprang up. I can't imagine it full of suits (although I guess it must be during the week). So for this act of resistance I am going to bestow a slightly generous 3 stars (like with the puzzling fella above...2.5 would be more accurate!)

Great bar when the weather's nice.
City pride has a great outdoors area with picnic tables and music playing in the background. The beer is about average priced. They seem to cater to the business professionals in the area.
A night outside with a bunch of friends, some great beers, and nice views of the wharf is the best way to spend a week night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mimi M.Enfield, London144236291711 Dec 2009
From reading the other review, I was surprised to discover this pub is still there. There is a lot of construction going on in it's immediate vicinity (a tower block was being built next door the las time I visited).
They have a private dining area upstairs which is good for work leaving dos etc. The lunch menu is surprisingly good and pretty reasonable, considering the area, and the staff are always pleasant. The pub also has parking for around 20-30 cars but fills up quickly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz S.London13210 Dec 2009
A typical London pub in an untypical location. At night the nearby beautiful lights of canary wharf's tall towers and reflections off the water is worth the walk to and from the tube/DLR. It is also just across the road from the walk way around the Isle of Dogs. Apart the slightly weird darkish pink colour it is tres ordinaire but at least it's still there!

If I could give 2.5 stars, I would.
Went here once while supporting a friend doing the London Marathon.
It was pleasant enough inside and it was comfortable but the beer and food weren't anything to write home about in my opinion, although it is quite a varied menu.
In fact the only reason this place came back to my attention today is that it's just become pretty much the most expensive pub in the world.
No, not the price of the booze or the chews - word is it's about to be sold to developers for £32 million.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
