The Museum and Art Gallery is a beautiful building but one cannot help but feel that not enough is done to promote itThe exhibitions are hit and missBut often I completely forget it is there, which is utterly ridiculous considering the size of it!

The museum of plymouth has its good times and bad times. Some of the exhibitions have been very good, especially when they had the Egyptian collection there - however it seems too unknown to alot of people - more needs to be done to promote this place - as it is in a beautiful old building - with period features - i enjoyed walking around this, but only now and again

This museum/art gallery is well worth a visit, I have visited it many, many times over the years and have never been dissappointed with what it has to offer. It is in the centre of the town and housed in a most beautiful building which it shares with the lending library. It is an interesting place to take children and should be used more by the people of Plymouth.

Since the recent refurbishment there seems to have been a vast improvement not only in the displays and exhibitions but more so in the approachablity and helpfulness of the staff and the efforts being made to make people aware of what is there. Although a modest collection, there is plenty to be seen and its always worth a visit.

Current celebrating its centenary the curating staff has pulled the best from the archive and there are several good exhibitions. Seems to be increasing its public profile lately after an EU funded refurb. Its still a much complained of disgrace that it refuses to open on Sundays.
