2 reviews for City Inn
We booked here as part of a websites "Secret Hotels" promotion, where they just give you a description of a place and a reduced price and they don't tell you the name until you've booked and paid...a bit of a gamble really.
We actually thought this hotel was a completely different one and when we got the email saying "City Inn" we were a bit taken aback! But we googled it and it looked nice so off we went!
It is nice, very nice. Everything is very new and modern, the bedrooms are very well set out and comfortable, all complete with a flatscreen TV which doubles as a PC too so that was quite cool.
The bar is particularly nice, we spent a very nice evening in here even though I normally don't like to stay in the hotel bar as I kinda like to get out and about! But it was so nice in here we couldn't be bothered leaving! Very good service.
It is very centrally located right opposite Manchester Piccadilly station and therefore right in the middle of the city with good transport links to everywhere else.
Good price as well as we booked with this promotion but it would be much more expensive if we'd have booked on another website!
A very spiffy place with great services and amenities. We had a real hard time finding it because we thought the address was "Piccadilly Place" instead of "Auburn Place". That was pretty confusing. But fortunately Manchester has some kind Traffic officers that stand around and assist people!
Once we were there, we loved the place. The concierge was especially friendly and gave good advice. The iMac in the room is a great idea, and they also have movies you can borrow. Also, I was going to go get ice and before I even got in the elevator (ice is on the top) someone was there to tell me that the machine was broken and room service would send some for free.
The funniest thing is that on the restaurant menu you can order "fish and chips" without breading and without chips!
