my friend told me to meet her at the botanist for a drink.  she called and said she was already there, but when i got there, i couldn't find her anywhere.  i then get a text saying that i passed the place and that she saw me from inside.  i was confused, b/c i was clearly at the botanist.  it turns out that she walked into chelsea brasserie by accident, but what a happy accident.

we sat at the bar, had a few drinks and then ordered some food as the evening went on.  the drinks here are yummy and come w/ really fresh fruit.  for food, a few of us shared the hummus, artichoke and peppers, the ahi tuna starter, and the pea risotto.  everything was really good.  since it's just down the road from me, i will be back.

Can we have a pitcher of Pimm's?

Can we have a pitcher of Pimm's?

Sure.  Would you like it with lemonade or ginger ale?

    Ginger Ale.

    (Fifteen Minutes Later...)

We ordered a pitcher of Pimm's....?

Oh.  We don't do pitchers of Pimm's.

I can bring you three glasses of mediocre Pimm's and charge you 10 pounds each (plus a "service" charge).

    Wow.  Sounds great.

No wonder everyone else is at The Botanist....

If you've had enough of shopping around Sloane Square and Kings Road or fancy a nice lunch with the girls this place is great, but overpriced.

We weren't very hungry so went for the dressed crab and smoked salmon with creme fraiche served as a mains portion (£12.75 ea) with sides of green salad and the best new potatoes i've ever had, all washed down with 2 glasses of cool, crisp Chenin Blanc.

In the past i've had the Steak Berneaise which was very enjoyable.

The service is sleek and professional but not very personal. It would be nice to see the very smart suited waiters crack a smile every now and then!

The decor is of the exposed brick, over sized art variety and there are some comfortable booths for dining. You can  just go for drinks at the bar.

You can generally always get a table here at lunch on Saturdays without reservations while other brasseries in the area (Oriel  and The Botanist) are quite crowded. This is probably why i keep ending up back here!

We stopped by the Chelsea Brasserie last night and were treated to a really excellent meal.

We had the beef carpaccio with horseradish sauce, capers, and pickles as an app and it was delicious. We followed up with the pepper crusted yellowfin tuna & sauteed vegetables and the roasted black leg chicken & potato puree.

I have to say, the quality of the food was outstanding. We were actually quite taken aback by just how good it was, since most of the other places we've tried in the area have been a bit sub par.

The atmosphere was vibrant (actually somewhat noisy), but it was very comfortable nonetheless. As for the service, it was competent and prompt.

Regarding the pricing, the entrees ranged from 15-25 pounds, and the apps were about 10 or so. They did go overboard a bit on the cocktails in my opinion, just under 10 pounds for one and they also charged us 2 pounds for bread which is a bit low class.

In any case, I'd certainly recommend this place, and hope to head back shortly...can't wait to try the Scottish beef filet!

If I could give this establishment a half star, making 3 and a half, I would, but alas.... they get 3.

Moving on.  GREAT location.  Nice space, lovely covered outdoor seating.  Accommodating for children....actually VERY.  Decent but limited menu (went for brunch).  SUPER close to the tube.

Downers:  SLOW service, and kind of the Lassiez Faire - We-Don't-Care-If-You-Starve attitude (180 from Le Cercle just down the street; please see that review).  My Eggs Benedict was exactly that.... and nothing else, not even a parsley sprig.  No bread, rolls, anything.  Requested Still Water.... received one bottle, which the four of us downed, and then no more.  The Valrohna chocolate sauce for the ice cream was to die for.  Served hot.  Yum.

This was a pleasant albeit slightly frustrating experience.  It was generally worth the money but don't come here if you have a time constraint.

The food was delicious but the staff was so slow. Our waitress didn't speak any English so we had to point to what we wanted for our drinks and meal. That was a little annoying and we didn't expect that at a place like this.

The french cuisine is simply exquisite.  It's a modern French Brasserie in the heart of Sloan Square that forms the T off Kings' Road coming from Chelsea Harbor.  The ambiance is nice and it's casual place for business meetings, dates, and good seafood.  My favorite dish on the menu is the Icelandic cod with parsley puree sauce and fingerling potatoes.

Lovely restaurant in Sloane Square. Have only been here once but had a very enjoyable time. The restaurant has a formal atmosphere but the staff are very friendly and attentive. There is a good selection of wines on offer, and their artichoke and pea risotto was absolutely melt in you mouth - without a doubt the best risotto I have ever tasted.

One of the best Old Fashioned cocktails to be found in London.
