One to be avoided at lunchtime.
Very slow food service, not nice if you don't like drinking on an empty stomach - over half an hour wait for a sandwich!
The long wait for food was not made any easier by a number of chav mothers with crying babies using the place as a licensed creche.
Having not been to The Castle for food for a very long time, Hubby & gave it a go. Must admit disappointed, even though it was the cheaper option we went for, the lunch time 2 meal special. Hubby had ham, egg, chips which he said was okay. I went for vegetable lasagne, which at first I was enjoying, nice & cheesy, however as it went on the texture was mushy, I realised it was due to the vegetables, which when I uncovered from the lasagne & cheese, was in fact cauliflower, whole brussel sprouts, left over from the roasts I think. It was quite busy on the day, but I think most people were having a beer before Easter. There was a couple of 'reserved' tables. One of my pet hates is when they have a lot of fish on the menu & charges like £10.00 for a meat lasagne & you are given horrible pressed out cutlery, it spoils it, you expect that from a cafe, but a place like The Castle
