I used to be a big fan of this pool when I was younger and I'm looking forward to taking my children there. The pool is split into two by a big rope. One side being for adults or older children the other the kids. The kids pool is quite shallow and has a little slide which your children can climb upto and when they go down the slide they come out into the shallow pool. Sometimes they also have floats in there for the children to play with. The bigger pool is basically a big circle that has rapids on that push you around which is great fun and ther eis also a jacuzzi for you to chill out in. They also have a flume slide which you can go down when you go on it you need to take a mat with you to sit on. At the end of the flume you come out into a small section of water. I find the pool is well lifeguarded and is great fun. Whenever we go there we have great fun its a fun pool so is not for people who are looking to swim lanes like at a normal swimming centre.
Cascades pool complex is located within Ruda Holiday Park, Croyde.
The kids really enjoyed this pool and the 230ft flume which is great as there is a big clock which shows the speed you've come down. That made for a big competition with the family which was great fun. There is also a rapids ride, a jacuzzi and a toddler pool.
On the downside, it is not a huge pool which gets very busy during holiday times so you may end up queuing for long periods of time to get in. You also have to pay to get in even if you are staying at the holiday park which I didn't agree with. Family holidays are very expensive and having the extra expense of paying for swimming several times at around £3.35 per person really annoyed me. Maybe Ruda should consider cut price entrance for residents?
I have been to better pools but the kids liked it so if its good enough for them, it's good enough for me!
