Stayed here for two weeks last summer. The room was nice and the concierge lounge was probably the best thing about the hotel. The staff were super nice and accommodating. The restaurant that is in the hotel is lacking, but the area that the hotel is in has tons of restaurants to choose from. The place can be a little loud late into the night depending on what way your room is facing. It's kinda party central right outside the the hotel doors. The fitness center is pretty amazing too.
A friend came over from America a stayed here, so I'm able to review it! It's not often that you really know very much about hotels in your home town, now is it?
I visited her in her room, and was quite surprised by the pleasant airy feeling that this hotel harbours. Like so many places of the same ilk, it looks a bit dingy from the outside with its old fashioned brickwork and design. But inside it's quite modern and fresh.
That being said, the rooms were quite standard. I was expecting something a little more lavish, due to it location, standing and pricing. But instead the rooms were basic and wouldn't have been out of place at a Travel Lodge.
Still, this is a prime location, and you could certainly do worse (I imagine, I don't know, my house is a 10 minute walk away...)
I wasn't expecting much when I stayed here. Just wanted to wander around Cardiff for a day or so (which I highly recommend). It is very close to the train station and bus stop, so it is great if you are traveling from London. Very clean. Wifi is expensive, but you know... that's GB for ya. Close enough to walk to a super clothing store, a Starbucks and some touristy places, like the giant castle. The rate is higher on the weekends, but if you go in the off season, it isn't terribly bad. Comfy beds tho!
Really small room and the view was of a graffitied train station. Bed was comfortable, location is good, quiet. Check the hotels website and see if they have some sort of special going on, got a room with parking for 65£.
I really love staying at the Cardiff Marriott!
The people are welcoming and the whole atmosphere there is always good!
Rooms are spacious and always up to a excellent standard!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it very central to shopping, eating out and nightlife.
We were welcomed by one of the managers who was very friendly and asked if she could arrange anything for our stay. Check in was really quick and our room was ready for us straight away. The hotel is probably in the best location for shopping, nightlife, millenium statium and the CIA. Although noise is easily heard from all the music gigs in the CIA, if you are going to stay here while there is a concert i would recommend asking for a room facing away from the cia and clubs.
Basic business hotel. Large rooms, excellent bathrooms and plumbing. Wished there was free wifi.
brilliant for Christmas parties although the drinks at the bar are quite expensive, best Christmas dinner in a hotel for a party ever! great disco after too
