I was trying to find a nice place in the area of Camberwell where I can use free internet connection and relax. And this library was just what I needed. It is really easy to find and to get to -bus and tube connections are good. The ground floor was just refurbished so it is really nice and cozy and warm. You can grab a chair, find the nearest plug (if you need one), register and then take your time browsing the internet. And it works really good. Of course you can also use the other services offered by the library and as I observed there is also a book club, a homework help club during term time, baby and toddler sessions ...
Well you need a bit of a luck to find a place for your plug if you need one, but usually it is no problem.
Six computers, Twenty Southwark leaflets, a Partridge in a Pear Tree and many, many book. This library is as a library does. Nothing overwhelmingly great about it, but it serves its purpose and serves it well.
It's a fairly small place. The first room is lined with fiction, but not fictitious, books. (Can you imagine what a library lined with fictitious books would be like?) The two other rooms contain the circulation desk and the rest of the books - books of other genres - audio books, travel, non-fiction, childlren's, leprechauns, six-leaf clovers, etc.
There are a few nice leaflets letting you know about what's going on in Southwark.
