A lovely old fashioned local pub. With a lot of business men coming here for their evening pint and to continue talking business. But everybody is just happy to be there and even if they spot a new face they just continue.
A lovely spot to spend a couple of hours and with a pint of Guinness at €4.65 it's not too expensive either.
Byrne's is one of those pubs, who seem to have missed the whole Celtic Tiger malarkey. Maybe because they're a bit in the middle of nowhere on the Stillorgan Dual Carriageway. This pub looks like it hasn't changed at all in the last 20 years at least. But then again, why should it? The seats are comfortable, the pints are outstanding and the staff are lovely and friendly. People, who are more interested in a stylish place to have a few cocktails probably won't make it through the doors and that's why it's such a great place. It's also just around the corner from the Leopardstown racecourse so it's perfect for a few drinks before or after the races.
This is an old-fashioned pub in the best sense of the word. It stays the same while the whole area around it has changed! Warm and welcoming. The staff always have time for a chat. A great place to pop in for a toasted sandwich at lunchtime
