My daughter and her friend attended a makeover. They were happy with thier hairstyles, makeup etc. However they were a little uncomfortable by the constant sales pressure from the staff, to buy more and more. (expensive make up and more pictures) They were left waiting for quite long periods of time also. I am still waiting for my booking deposit, nearly 2 weeks later..they are quick enough to take the cash, but obviously don't like coughing up.. perhaps they are a little miffed that they could'nt persuade my girls to spend that also, and believe me they tried. Any one who is thinking of going, beware of the extra sales pressure once you are there..
I have some updated info on this placeCON CON CON!!!!!!
They are known to add things to orders without you realizing, or try to mislead you with price of pictures and discount prices..then refuse to refund your deposit..Ive been conned out of £50.. The customer service is really awful, probably the worst I've come across. Firstly they agreed in an email to refund my £50, then another email later, they squirmed they way out of it again. I would rather chew off my own foot than deal with this company again..
The only good thing to show for the whole awful mess, is the pictures that eventually appeared, which were actually of a decent quality.
Burlington's salon appears to be an upmarket salon judging by its website and prices. But what a huge disappointment! The hair studio is small and cluttered and in need to of a good airing as well as a lift! And it seemed to be understaffed. My friends and I arrived 15 minutes before our appointment, but were only seen just under 45 minutes later (I was seen an hour later). We were offered no refreshments, although our vouchers promised refreshments throughout the experience and the staff were rude, not responsive and unattentive.
Although I was quite precise and detailed with my request of hair style, my stylist appeared not to understand. Also, I had wanted a certain type of curl in my hair, but my stylist only knew how to curl with ghds, leaving me with a hair style I was not at all satisfied with.
Hair cut was average, not awful, but stylist was very unhelpful regarding style advice and also pretty impolite, as i tried to make conversation with her and got one word answers. The studio isn't a very nice environment to be in, you climb up quite a lot of stairs in a pretty run down building and the salon seems like it was maybe an office before. Also the stylist seemed unable to set my hair in proper curls without using a ghd, which I explained I didn't want doing as my hair is naturally curly. I think the place is also overpriced for the kind of service it provides.
I cant say I agree with any of this, please check out my reviews for the one I have put on another page that I wrote about my experience which is totally different from what is being said here. The salon is not hard to find at all, it was my first time in Birmingham and I had no trouble finding it, its very near the centre and not far from the bit where there is a fountain. Kikikara if you are from Birmingham and I am not how come I found it no problem and you did? The staff in Birmingham are really friendly and made me feel really welcome. I read from another person who did a review on this company that they are not sure some of these reviews are being very honest and I have started to think that too
What a huge disappointment! I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, but was only seen just under 30 minutes later.I had a voucher paid £20 and am sure that it doesn't deserve more than £5. My voucher promised conditioning treatment which was a very average treatment as you could use some hair conditioning in your home . Although I was quite precise and detailed with my request of hair style, my stylist appeared not to understand. Also, I had wanted a certain type of curl in my hair, but my stylist only cut my hair very simply. They are not professional in hair dressing, as their own business is photo shooting which doesn't seem to be good neither.
ok, new id more like new scam I took my daughter here for a make over and photo shoot session for her 11th birthday. We were quite excitedand really looking forward to it. We were assured ont eh phone when booking(and we called them prior to the photo shoot) that the £25 refundable booking fee would be put back on the debit card 10 working days after showing up for the photo shoot. We are still waiting 2 months later!! The make up was done really good and the photographer took really nice pictures and even gave us her private phone number. As she even said she was cheaper than them!!!! We were then taken to a small and dingy room by a girl called Lenka who was extremely pushy to say the least. She told me my daughter would be a great model and she knew people who could sort her out with agencies and she said that if i bought the cd and photos for £1000 there abouts we would own the copyright to the pictures and it would be an ideal portfolio. Thankfully i am not stupid and didn't fall for her guilt trip and just told her that i would speak to my husband about it, as i just wanted to SHUT HER UP!! i then asked her about the free photo that comes with the photo shoot and she said until i decided what photos i was having i couldn't pick a free one. I then left the studios with my daughter on her 11th birthday feeling very tired and angry and my daughter was very confused and upset, and didn't have anything to show for it. I then called them the next day and told them which picture i wanted and they said that was ok and we should recieve them shortly. TEN WEEKS LATER still no booking fee has been refunded and no photos. I have just informed trading standards who are going to represent me legally. These people should not be allowed to getaway with this and i would never recommend this company to anyone. Theyare thieves in my eyesand offer poor customer service. BE WARNED!!
