I don't consider myself hard to please when it comes to pubs. Football on TV, satisying grub, a good selection of drinks and a good atmosphere. Oh, and if you can give me my own wee room with a roaring fire, personal TV screen and enough room to stretch out with a couple of mates and a few quiet pints that'd be nice too.
Charge forward, the marvellous Bull Inn, the shining light of the Paisley bar scene which has been keeping Buddies happy since 1901, making it officially the oldest pub in the town.
The Bull is as handsome a bar as you will find in the west of Scotland and its traditional fittings and homely atmosphere are almost worth the jaunt to Paisley alone.
If you do manage to bag one of its four snugs (unlikely during lunch times and big match days) then make sure you cancel any prior arrangements. Trust me, you'll not want to leave here for a very, very long time.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Fred J.Paisley, Renfrewshire0321 Oct 2019
Great pub for some pre-match drinks. Great atmosphere and both staff and customers are very friendly

The other pub respite in Paisley and a quick wander down from the Wee Howff.
A historic inn established in 1901 (despit what other reviewers say) it has a brilliant interior with the original small rooms in the back. Supposedly these wee rooms are the site of many a political discussion.
Good real ale selection with several guest beers on offer. Excellent gantry with a decvent selection of whisky available. Television screens means it will get busy on sporting events days. Food served all day. Lunch time is also a busy period.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alan N.Dunfermline, Fife301021176 Feb 2013
I like finding quirky places and this 112 year old traditional pub, designed by W.D. McLelland, a student of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, certainly qualifies.
Grabbing the current guest ale from local Glasgow brewer Kelburn, the Unco Hoppy, my party and I settled into one of the three self contained "Snugs" which each have an open fireplace, leather bench seating, stools, tables and lovely leaded windows - I would assume influenced by Mackintosh.
Once inside, you really feel you can get away from the world here and it was a completely relaxing place to enjoy a pint and a chat.
The main bar area is decorated with all sorts of oddities including a Gramophone and a Penny Farthing like bicycle amongst other things.
If you fancy something a bit different with proper snug for you and your mates, I'd give this place a try.
I'll upload a few pics to give you an idea.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maureen M.West Dunbartonshire641440319 Feb 2010
I'm a big fan of this authentic and cosy little pub in Paisley, particularly the "snugs" which feature a roaring fire and can be hired out by small groups.
The Bull Inn is definitely a winter pub as it completely shuts out the sunshine. In fact, after a few drinks, you may forget the outside world exists at all.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 950212 Apr 2014
This pub should be at the centre of the Paisley pub world. It is by far my favourite pub in Paisley and was a regular weekend haunt of mine for years. I still drop in on the occasional match day before heading down to St. Mirren Park.
The clientele has always been eclectic, friendly, and well behaved. I have never seen any altercations in over 20 years of drinking there (on and off).
The beer is always varied to cater for the differing tastes of the modern boozer. From bog standard lager and heavy to some very nice Real Ale from local breweries such as Houston Brewery (always a favourite of mine).
The age of the pub and hints to it's history are evident in the way it's laid out. It's all old wood and old photographs. There is a plaque on the outside of the building as part of Paisley's History Trail.
The booths at the rear are always the first to fill up and sometimes it's hard to get a seat but I think that's a good indicator of a successful pub.
The only thing I think the Bull Inn should have (again) is a good jukebox, but that's not enough to diminish the 5 star rating.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Megan S.Paisley, Renfrewshire195514 Apr 2016
Best pub in Paisley. Full of charm and old features. Little snugs at the back which have their own fires and TV. Plenty live sport, good tunes and good drink selection. Great ales on tap and cheap, good pub food. Dogs also welcome. Just beware of the ghosts!

A proper Scottish pub still in business and serving pints and free pour scotch. Woodwork is original to the building and the pub has been there for 30 years. The front of the pub is warm and inviting. There are seat around the bar and booths on the opposite side of the wall. There are three small private rooms partitioned off with glass in the back. Each one has a TV and fireplace. These are perfect if you have a few people in your party and want a bit of quiet. All age groups would feel comfortable here. Food served until 4:45 p.m. On most days.

The Bull Inn is a tiny wee pub located on New Street. If your drinking in there you'll probably find it's more catered for older people and has a quiet, cosy atmosphere.Right at the back of the pub they have wee rooms sectioned off for people to eat, maybe about 4 wee rooms with seating and tables. It can seem cramped but don't let this put you off as the food is gorgeous.Clearly homemade..my favourite was the lasagne. It's usually 2 courses for £10 but if your a St Mirren season ticket holder you get one meal free,so basically 2 meals for a £5.bargain!!!They recently filmed scenes here for the new film soon to be released The Stone Of Destiny,so this has brought it some popularity.
