There is nothing not to like about Brooks Restraunt, the food is really nice the establishment is quite quaint. We have been several times now not had a single problem. They have a special menu if you go early so it's well worth trying for any special occasion. What we like particularly is the area they have upstairs to have your coffee. If you go with friends is allows you to stay as long as you want and sit in comfort whilst having a good catch up! Well done Brooks - keep up the good work!
This is going to be one bank busting visit to the outer limits of Leeds and I didn't expect to say that whilst in Brighouse. However, let's crack on and try out Brooks.
It's an odd venue that mixes sophistication with crayons. I jest not! You can go in and draw on the table clothes. Maybe I'm not the target age for that kind of behaviour but I had fun anyway! You've also got polished floors and an informal candle lit experience in this venue that has been going for over twenty years. It has also got some fine associations. Try a chef who trained at the Savoy for a quality shout. This shows in the menu as well. We are talking high end dishes. Beautifully adapted fish with delicious sauces, meat of the highest order and a very tempting veggie main.
As for the deserts, it is another week living at the gym for me after a quite divine chocolate and nut brownie. Excellent food but not excellent prices. This will cost you so make sure you take someone special and I'm not talking Cheryl Cole here.
I love Brooke's restaurant in Brighouse. The whole experience is excellent. The menu is divine, lots of 'posh' food but something for everyone. The service is fantastic, friendly helpful staff who work quickly and efficiently. It is a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for here. It's great for a lovely romantic night out, or for groups eg at Christmas. There is a tiny bar as you walk in with seating areas and a coat hook. The restaurant is through the back with lovely lighting and atmosphere. I've really enjoyed my night every time I've been here, I can't wait to go back!
Good Value for top notch foodbit fancy schamncy, huge plate little food, but is 10/10 for taste.just dont go if your hungry! Nice traditional settings.
Very nice food
Fouteen of us came here last night to celebrate the retirement of a work colleague. I actually ate here about a year earlier and was very impressed with the quality of the cooking so I've been looking forward to this meal ever since the venue was announced about a month ago. We all ordered from a £30 set menu and I think I must have gone for the unhealthiest option for each course! For starters I had the filo moneybag filled with mushrooms and cheese in a garlic cream sauce. As is the norm when eating in large groups I quickly scanned what everyone else had and was pleased with my selection! The other choices being soup (red, looked like tomato but didn't enquire as I have absolutely no interest in soup!) and some kind of white fish with loads of green salady stuff. For the main I had lamb shank. It was a generously sized portion and very tender, The person I was sitting next to ordered the vegetarian option which I tasted (the advantages of sitting next to someone very thin who never ever finishes a meal!). It was chargrilled artichokes and was an ideal accompaniment to my dish! For dessert I had bread and butter pudding as well as helping myself to my friends' meringues as she had the Eton Mess. Good value for £30, exceptional value when the boss paid for all the wine! For those of you not lucky enough to find someone else to foot the alcohol bill, I agree with the previous reviewer who said "excellent food but not excellent prices" but as I am often having to pay £30 in taxi fares to get to the centre of Leeds and back, only having to pay around £12 to get to Brighouse means I don't mind the slightly higher prices. I will definitely eat here again but it is certainly a restaurant for a special occasion.
one of the few restaurants in the area of good quality, service, atmosphere and food all very good. perfect for small intimate evenings.
