    First to Review

Went here last weekend to see Oldham Athletic in FA Cup action.  I had been warned by football friends to avoid this place and instead go see Bolton Wanderers of FC United instead.  I heard it was the colest stadium in England and that was enough of a reason to go - try something different.

I was disappointed that the bitter cold winds weren't whipping off of the Penine hills, which you can see from the stadium since a few years ago one of the longer stands was torn down only for the team bosses to later realize that they have no money to build a new one!  This makes it unique.

I was alone at the game so struck up a conversation with a couple fans and we sat together, had a couple beers together and I got to learn some Oldam team history.  There were meat pies (but didn't have any) and other basic food, so you don't have to leave hungry.  There was also a nice fan shop where I bought the team's 3rd shirt, which is orange, for 10 pounds.  A nice souvenir, I think.

For an interesting football experience, I highly recommend Boundary Park.

I am a little biased being an Oldham Athletic fan but i believe that every self respecting football fan should come to Boundary Park.

No longer the home of the plastic pitch but still known as Ice Station Zebra due to the biting winds and the fact that it is the highest football ground.

A revamp of the stadium is due to commence in hope of bringing us into the 21st century so get on down quick.

You can still grab a pie and a pint or a burger, hot dog etc all for under a fiver which is decent compared to most.

Even the toilets are in decent nick.

We have a corporate area which is basically a cabin on a paltform but that is deceptive because once you go in it offers everything you can expect from a lounge area. I have been in a few times and the most ive paid is £45 and for that you get a 3 course meal, programme, complimentary drinks, tv screen and nice comfy seat to watch the game. Well worth it and the atmosphere is good in there.

If your in the area and your a football fan then get down to Boundary Park but dont forget to wrap up warm.

They don't call it Ice Station Zebra for nothing. Known to be one of the coldest grounds in the country i can vouch for this to be true and recommend wrapping up if you're visiting in winter!
Slightly biased as a Latics supporter myself, the ground is compact but large enough to not feel cramped and is probably at the better end of the table in regard to League One grounds.
Hot food is available which is a plus, with the club being particularly famous with home & away supporters alike, with the unique Shepherds Pie option proving popular.
The views provided throughout the ground are good with no-ne being too far from the action, and the ground is located just off the motorway and close to Elk Mill retail park which is helpful for away fans who fancy some fast food or need to top up their petrol before the drive home.
