This Book and Comic Exchange is really cool, in a really geeky way, which is actually cool. Whatever. The point is, I really like this store. The people that work there really fit the stereotype of the comic store worker, which I think is quite humorous.
I think one of the main reasons I like it is because it is a bit grungy, unlike a lot of stores in Soho. I'm not even a big fan of comic books, but I still really enjoy having a browse in unfamiliar territory. I am however a big fan of books, and there is quite a good selection here.
Most of the stuff is pretty cheap, and there is generally a good quality of stuff.
The Book & Comic Exchange on Berwick Street (presumably affiliated with the Record & Tape Exchange further down the road) is a great place to buy cheap books and comics in central London.
It is a small shop and, though somewhat ramshackle, it has a wide selection of books organized by type and subject matter. There is a large comic books section on the centre table, which had quite a lot of Alan Moore when I last went.
In keeping with the atmosphere there is usually only one staff member in the shop who is generally laid-back and unassuming, though helpful if needed.
