If you're from the area, you have, somewhere a picture of yourself or your kids standing in the middle of a field of bluebells - they're absolutely amazing. You must of course catch them when they're at their best - but it is well worth it.
If you haven't seen the carpets of flowers, make a date next spring in your diary to do so.

A beautiful secret located deep into Ashridge, Berkhamsted that seems to be passed from friend to friend rather than advertised.
We drove up late on Spring evening in the two week window when the bluebells come out and the view is simply stunning. It takes your breath away. Under the cool shade of the birch trees lies the most wonderful purple carpet of bluebells. It goes on and on and is the kind of view you just look at try and take in.
You can park up safely at the side of the road in Ringshall. It is the second left after the entrance to the local monument and there are paths running through the wood to ensure that the flowers are left untrampled.
