Bury's Blockbuster is a typical video store, catering for DVDs and gaming in equal measure. Turnover of new releases is rapid, and there's a good price structure to tempt you to hire multiple DVDs or games at the same time.
Blockbuster also offers an excellent range of second hand games, DVDs, consoles and accessories - I bought a playstation 2 controller for 3 quid, and DVDs can be as cheap as 2 or 3 pounds too.
The staff are efficient and friendly. The drawbacks to the store are access - it's out of town - there's only car parking space for about a dozen vehicles. It's relatively simple to find, on the main Bury-Bolton road (A58).
Recommended as part of the national chain.
Blockbusters has a wide range of DVD'S and console games, however they only usually have a few (or 1) of each title and it's often hard to get exactly what you want and you end up coming out with something different. As well as renting, you can buy movies, games, consoles and accessories new or second hand. The prices are reasonable at a few quid for about 3/4 nights. If you can't take things back when the stores open you can drop the items through the letter box. It's easy to get to but parking is limited because of it off a main road.
Always has a great and large choice of DVDs. Often has offers on and you can return DVDs through the letter box outside which is handy when you are short of time. Also supplies the usual 'goodies' that go along with a DVD night in like popcorn and coke etc which often also have offers on them.
