4 reviews for Bistro Benito
This cozy family restaurant serves large portions of excellent Italian dishes at reasonable prices. Even if it's your first visit, the staff will greet you like an old friend, and by the time you leave you'll feel like you are one.
We have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. I recommend any of the pasta dishes (you'll find yourself mopping up every last bit of sauce on your plate), the pork shank is especially good, and they have a decent house wine. Make sure you leave room for dessert.
This isn't the place for a romantic rendezvous or people who prefer to be left alone. Tables are very close to each other, so you'll probably find yourself socializing with the diners on either side of you during your meal.
This is a solid choice for Italian food near Earl's Court. The fresh artichoke starter drenched in a creamy vinaigrette was especially yummy, and our main courses were good. The staff here are friendly, but the tables are really close together, so it's definitely not a "romantic" choice. Also, the place gets bonus points because when my husband managed to spill the better half of a bottle of sparkling water all over the floor, the waiters laughed with us, rather than making us feel like the klutzes that we are.
Spent the Christmas holiday in London with my wife and three sons. WE were frankly a little burned out on pub food by the time we stumbled across Bistro Benito. It was by far the best dining experience we had in London, not only because of the reasonably priced, authentic food, but because the staff of this place was professional, fun, and incredibly friendly. When we walked in we were made to feel like family! Very good pasta, veal, deserts, and a reasonably (for London) priced list of decent Italian wines. Will definitely return if we are back in town, would highly recommend
Benitos is a casual authentic Italian restaurant with excellent service, good food, and cheap prices. It looks small from the outside, and can be quite cozy on the inside, while you share elbow space with the table beside you. However, the cramped interior is more than made up for by the service, food and friendly diners.
The staff keeps an eagle eye on the door and by the time you get it open, someone is there, taking you immediately to a table.
I had dinner here tonight while stopping in London for a few days on the way back from Saudi Arabia.
Since I have been craving pasta for so long, I opted to keep things simple with a cup of homemade tomato soup and spaghetti with tomatoes, garlic and clams.
The tomato soup was good and fresh, though I think it could have had more depth to the flavor.
The spaghetti and clams were excellent - toothy pasta with tons of flavor. The only drawback was that some of the clam shells were broken, which necessitated some careful chewing and picking out pieces of broken shell.
All of the food came piping hot and there was plenty of bread to soak up the soup and pasta sauce with.
The best part was that if you ask for chili or for the sauce to be a bit spicy, the waiter will bring out their chili-infused olive oil that you can apply yourself.
To top it off, there is a considerable dessert cart to tempt you after dinner.
I plan to eat here again!
