I came to this place because it got great reviews and was a short distance from where we were staying. I was not disappointed! The food was the best Indian food I have ever had. The servers were friendly, attentive. The food came quickly and was a reasonable price. Delicious dishes! My only regret is that I had not found it sooner or I would have ate here twice! Delicious, don't miss out!!
You will not be disappointed. While there are Indian restaurants with a more delicate balance of flavors in the curries, I found each dish to be dominated by its prime flavor, I was very satisfied at the conclusion of the meal, especially for the price paid.
I recommend the sheek kebab which is served sizzling on a cast iron plate and with delicious grilled onions.
We almost missed this gem as the hours were listed incorrectly on Yelp. Am I ever glad we ventured over here from our hotel near Paddington Station. This was by far the best Indian food I've EVER had! Disclaimer: I'm grew up a mid-western American girl from Indiana (not to be confused in any way with India) and my exposure to Indian food has been limited to my new home in Southern California, which may or may not be authentic.
We were only in London a few nights, but made it a point to make a second trip to this restaurant and overindulge. The papadum appetizer with sauces was brilliant. We had a variety of dishes: korma, plain tikka chicken, tikka masala, butter lamb and chicken, and saag paneer. Everything was fabulous. My 8 and 9 year old boys powered through everything.
I had a brain fart and accidentally tipped over 20%, instead of what I'd researched was the local standard of 10%. Considering how much we'd ordered, it was not insubstantial. It was the first time we'd ever had wait staff shake our hands as we left a restaurant.
We may have left a few grains of rice, but by the time we rolled out of there, realizing I'd likely never be back, the thought of moving to London briefly crossed my mind.
Nothing special... went here based on all the reviews. Had the Bindhi bhai and it was dry as was my companions tandoori.
Wouldn't make a special trip to get there.
The food was excellent! We were greeted in a friendly manner and seated promptly upon entering. The restaurant was always full the entire visit. The tikka Marsala was amazing with the perfect amount of spice for my pallet. The Lamb Butter Punjab Rogan melted in my mouth and was by far the best dish we ordered. I would recommend this to any of my friends as it is a great value for the money.
Best indian restaurant in Bayswater, its been in the area for years and has always been this good.
Its really reasonably priced and the food is always perfect! The service is excellent too!
Located in Bayswater on Porchester Road this small, intimate Indian restaurant serves up some of the best Indian food I have ever had! The service was beyond impeccable with an extraordinarily friendly wait staff who greeted us with genuine smiles and sincere conversation. The restaurant soon filled with locals and tourists alike and all were treated as if family had just arrived for a meal! Speaking of the meal it was beyond delicious; the chicken tikka was superb and the biryani was simply divine. The wines were reasonably priced and I suggest the Louis Jardot Chablis to compliment this extraordinary meal. Wherever your travels take you in London this stop must be on your intinerary...you will not be disappointed!
The best Indian in the area. The curries are fabulous, the service is excellent and no matter how much you eat the bill will be super cheap. Best of all The Bengal Kitchen has a knack of always being full, however having a table big enough for you and your friends.
Nice food @ an even nicer price. That sums up "The Bengal" forya. Nice, cosy n quiet place that serves good curries, Bangladeshi style. The only hitch however is that the food is not authentic Indian and is more of a curry joint. I somehow find Masala Zone (especially the one at Earl's Court) and Mela closer to authentic Indian food. Having said that, cannot take the credit from Bengal for serving tasty food at honest to earth prices. They have a "lunch box" deal that serves rice and curry for 5 quid and is a steal.
wonderful place to have a nice meal. everything is always fresh & tasty
the bengal is one the finest food mouth watering dish i have ever had an would go back time an time again.. its based in a quite an family zone area which is good for people with children or anyone else ..their also a big space down stairs for anyone that wants to hold a party venue or birthdays are more then welcome but the main thing is there outstanding indian food which will keep you coming back for more , the bengal has had a feiw known faces coming in ie the likes of MP caron bock an many more this should tell you that the bengal indian restaurant is a trusted palce for you to eat an enjoy your self...
