This is the only ice cream place in the Leidseplein area, so if you find yourself there, I highly recommend giving this place a try. The ice cream flavors are unique and there are plenty of options. If you're bored with straight ice cream, they have sundaes and shakes and other ice cream creations.
It's still a Ben & Jerry's though, so it's not too exotic for Americans. But it *is* a lifesaver if you're a pregnant woman and you NEED Cherry Garcia ice cream but can't find it anywhere else in town. Not only do they have pre-packed Cherry Garcia pints, if they run out for some reason they'll pack a pint right there for you. I am very grateful they are around for this very reason. :)
A wonderful place that always has a queue. The milkshakes created with the ice cream and and cones are lovely and all staff speak English.
There is always a queue - perhaps for the buzz buzz coffee ice cream - which is lovely.
It's always fun to eat at Ben & Jerry's so why not eschew the common delights of Amsterdam and treat yourself to some ice cream instead?
I was really craving ice cream on this trip and I admit it felt a little silly to visit an American ice cream place twice. The first time, my friend and I tried a scoop of ice cream on a waffle. It was pretty good. The next time, I skipped the waffle and went straight to the two scoops in a cup method. Much less sticky. There was plenty of places to sit and a cute cow theme. The price was reasonable for the area. The second night we went there were super busy and there was a bit of a wait. I saw a few flavors that I've never seen for sale here so I tried a new one called Social Justice or something like that. It was very tasty.
Probably my favorite Ben & Jerry's in the whole world... oh wait, the factory in Vermont is also pretty awesome! This place is in a prime location however and I would go again!
