Dear Bel & The Dragon Owner,

What a great pub in Windsor this is! It was my first time there and quite possibly, my only time since I was here on business. I loved the atmosphere! You not only were able to accommodate a large group of us, but the layout of the tables were spectacular! We had the front room all to ourselves.

Let's move on to your menu. I couldn't have asked for a better choice of pub fare. I started off with an Appletiser! How refreshingly delicious! Next was a Selection of Country Breads Served with Roasted Garlic, Olive Oil & Olives. Roasted garlic on a menu! 6 stars for this ALONE! Then, there was a ramekin of cheese... sorry, the name slips my mind. Then to the main course, Pan Fried Chicken with mushroom risotto! This was the dish worth coming to eat! The panna cotta was a little on the rubbery side and definitely didn't have not enough vanilla extract in there.

A fun time was had by all there!

Cheers!

We went here on spec mid-week and did not need a reservation. We ordered 2 glasses of Prosecco but as they had none chilled they gave us champagne for the same price. The menu, like others in this small chain of eateries, is very good and we had figs with blue cheese wrapped in Parma ham and deep fried goats cheese coated in couscous to start. Main courses were the Cumberland sausages and mash and lemon sole with caper butter. the chefs potatoes were overdone, but otherwise the food was excellent and the portions generous. The service was a little slow, but the ambience was good and it was really cosy. Definitely worth a visit.
The only downside was that it seemed to attract masters from Eton school who shout instead of speak and drown out other conversations with sport and classroom banality.
